I wish I could put more than 5 stars! The staff on 2B were extremely patient, caring, understanding, and empathetic towards my dad and his care.

Horrible place for people with dimentia. He's not crazy. The nurses always tried ignoring me when I had a question and they lost all his possessions even when they showed us a locked cabinet in which he could never access without a key that the nurses have. I wouldn't give it even one star

I am not someone who usually writes reviews but I felt it was absolutely necessary. Be cautious about sending your loved one here. My father was discharged after two months worse off then when he went in. He was a patient of long term care prior and was sent here for "assessment" which I can only garner means sedate. He was admitted with the ability to speak and feed himself and is now left completely comatose. He now requires feeding at ever meal by a family member or attendant and is asleep all day. Despite raising concerns regularly to staff about the sedation, limited changes were made and no care made to his former self. On a positive note I will say the individual attendants are fantastic with residents but that is the only positive. Our family feels incredibly discouraged and his long term care team cant believe the negative change in him. Please be mindful for your loved one.

I'm writing to advise of my personal views of the Dementia wing for this facility. Upon visiting my parent I was disappointed in what I saw. Multiple patients sitting in wheelchairs some sitting and facing the wall which they were pressed almost up against with multiple carers only feet away from them. I entered my parents room which I understand they were quarantined to for a period of time to find that there was nothing in the room to keep his mind active; no pictures, no books, no radio, no magazines, not even a puzzle. As this is a short term care / respite facility I understand patients aren't expected to be there for long; but, if the person is confined to their room for a period of time they need to have something to keep their minds active or else their Alzheimer's/Dementia can worsen that much faster. It should be made clear to the family that they should provide more than just clothes when being brought to a place like this. The staff themselves seem pleasant enough and I understand patients in this wing can be difficult to deal with so I appreciate their hardwork with them and what they do I just ask that they interact with the patient's more often than just sitting around the the nurses desk. Thanks

Villa Caritas is a lovely Facility. The nursing staff are absolutely amazing. Our mother was admitted and has been there for two months on Unit 2B, She is well taken care of by the staff, who are very understanding, compassionate, patient and kind with her. This was a very difficult decision for our family to make, but I guarantee that your loved one will be safe and well taken care of. Nurses - Are incredible with mom. They know how to deal with her and cater to what she specifically needs. They are so kind and will get mom to help them on the unit, they do this because our mother always needed to be doing something or help out in some way, they get to know each patient personally. This is amazing!! Andrea - Mom's Social worker, is the most amazing women! She is professional and understands her patients needs and goes over and beyond anyone's expectations to make sure not only that my mom is happy but also the "Army" of a family we have as well... Dr. Magnon - Incredibly knowledgeable and will put your mind at ease. She loves what she does and it greatly shows. She has a gift with people who have mental disabilities and strives to make sure they are regulated and keeps the family very informed, while making sure mom is comfortable and ok. Stacey - He has been only working with me a short time, but he is the one in charge of placement. From the time that I have had the pleasure of dealing with him, he has made sure to study mom and make sure she is to be placed in the proper facility, specific to her needs alone. You can tell just by talking with him on the phone that he truly cares about his patients, and it shows through his knowledge and understanding of persons with Dementia Alzheimer's. This is the greatest decision we, as a family, have made for our mother. I hope this review helps to put your mind at rest if you are looking to place your loved one here.

I caution anyone considering leaving cash money at this facility for their loved one. My mother was transferred to another facility in late December and the money which was left for her and her bed quilt, which had great sentimental value for my mom, have gone missing. They were to have been transferred and accounted for but this seems to have not been done properly and now there is no accountability for the loss. I've been dealing with this situation for three weeks now with no positive results in sight. They don't need money in a dimensia ward.
