★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Kaslo Hospital took care of my Dad, Milton for many years. In his last year he lived at the care home he had the bestt care anyone could ask for. My Dad was not always easy or happy but I can honestly say this was one of his happiest years as he loved it there and always told me how wonderful everyone was who helped with his care. I am forever grateful for the staff there for making my Dad's last year of life as pleasant as it could be.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Inferior health is a business looking to make money. I had a heart attack at 5:30am and had to wait until 9:00 to go to the hospital where I was reprimanded and told to wait outside in the snow and cold where I squatted down for about 30 minutes.. maybe longer.. I had another one a week later, same deal. When I was told to wait outside I refused. The secretary said "Oh, you think you have a choice.. heh heh.." I said "100%." And she went to get someone to throw me out! When the person came she was really nice and told me she was getting me a room as soon as she could and I should just wait in the entrance., and she was sorry I was treated that way.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ There are some nurses and staff that care a great deal about the people that walk through the doors. Thank you to you kind and caring people, I'm sure you know who you are. Then there are the nurses that say stuff like "well how did you get here?" when you limp in with sore hips and need to see a doctor. Then there are the doctors that refuse to see you in a mental health emergency on the weekend because you dont have a clinic appointment, even though there are zero patients in the waiting room or any of the exam rooms. You are told they are having a meeting with the very nurse that is actually telling you they are having a meeting. This is the same doctor mind you, that you over heard on the phone saying, in an annoyed tone " I have patients with real problems" when you were calling for a quick simple prescription renewal earlier that year. So you know they just don't want to see you. So you end up driving the 2 hour round trip to Nelson for your mental health emergency hoping you don't hurt yourself or anyone else on the way because at this point you feel like a lost cause and that no one cares about you or your life at all ....so
..... whatever.. ...yeah that's our health care in Kaslo.........
