My 12 year old son inherited an older Canon DSLR and we took it in for cleaning and adjustment -- they did a great job and got it back to us in about a week and a half. A week later, the memory card stopped working so I took it back in. The pins inside the body were bent and it was going to cost more than the camera was worth to repair, so instead they swapped the whole body out for another one that was in better shape. Total cost: $60. All to encourage a budding photographer in a tough situation. Kudos to them for real generosity and creativity in solving our problem for us. I'll go back in a heartbeat.

Just visiting Victoria. Dropped camera off on Tuesday, got it back on Wednesday. Cleaned the lens from the inside. Good as new. And I was ready to buy a new camera. Will accept camera via mail. Good to know it's possible to fix a digital pocket camera. Thank you!

I've dealt with Victoria Camera Service for years. Needed a camera repaired. Staff was polite and knowledgeable. Received an estimate in a couple days, repairs done in a week. Very happy with the service, highly recommended. There are not many camera repair places around anymore, we should support local independent businesses. Thanks VCS!!

Don't waste your time here. They told me the diagnostic fee was 40$ and would go towards repairs or parts but apparently then at the end of the day they would have charged me 20 dollars extra just to put batteries in.. I got charged 40 dollars for nothing.I just wanted someone to quickly check my shutter ( which was locked) and would appreciate it if someone friendly told me that and I could figure it out on my own rather than wasting my time and money thinking there was a part missing and getting charged for nothing. Very terrible service, I feel robbed and should have gone elsewhere.

I brought a second-hand Pentax camera in to see what was wrong with it...the service was fairly quick. It took them about a week and a half to call me back and tell me that it would cost more to fix it than it was worth. I only gave three stars because of the fact that they REQUIRE an UPFRONT FEE PRIOR to ANY DIAGNOSIS of the problems...which caught me completely off-guard. They DO apply the initial fee charged to any issues they find, so at least that's something!

I started having my cameras repaired by Victoria Camera back in the '80s. My daughter took her camera there as well. They told her it wasn't worth the money to have it fixed. The people at the shop are great. No trying to take advantage of you. There is a fee diagnostic fee which is put towards the final bill if your camera can be fixed. My recent visit there was on September 21, 2021. The camera was repaired quickly and now works like a charm. Instead of buying a newer model of the same camera which had very little upgrades compared to mine and at a cost of over $650, I paid $166 to have it repaired. It was a no brainer. I recommend Victoria Camera Service to all of my friends. Oddly enough, when I told a friend about the shop yesterday, she said that's where she has her camera fixed too. Eliminate the middle man and go straight to the repair shop. You'll save money because you're not paying a store that sells cameras only for them to send the camera to Victoria Camera Service.

They fixed a serious problem with my Canon full frame camera that Canon could not. Last year I sent my Canon 5D Mark IV off to Canon in Toronto for service. It was seriously malfunctioning, for one thing, it would stop working in the slightest cold (I mean, 15 Celcius for 15 minutes, not serious cold). Canon replaced parts, charged me $250 (on top of the $60 I paid to ship to them with insurance and proper packaging), and it worked no better. They offered to try again, but I just didn't want to wait the 4 or so more weeks it would have taken. So I took it to Victoria Camera Service. They fixed it, for less than half what I had paid Canon, and it was ready within two days. That was a year ago, I have shot with it a lot, and the problem remains resolved.

Unfortunately this is a negative review. I don’t make a lot of reviews but this should be shared. I feel communication was lacking and could have eliminated the grey area. I sent my camera in to get looked at, as it wasn’t shooting sharp and seemed like something was off. Some time went by and I called to see what was going on. At first they said they couldn’t find anything wrong and asked for some sample photos. I couldn’t find any on my computer so followed up again, seeing if they went through all the paces and made sure there wasn’t anything they couldn’t find. They wrote back to me, that they could not find anything. In the same email they said “Also, the camera has been impacted as the LCD is broken, this can also be a reason for intermittent problems. The camera and lens you have sent in seem to be working as they should.”. So immediately I called and asked what happened to the LCD screen. Jan said the camera arrived that way. I have shipped many packages and made sure to package this very well so it wouldn’t get damaged in shipping. They couldn’t find the box to see if it had any damage from shipping. First thing, as a camera repair shop I would expect them to call me right away if something else was wrong other than what I sent it in for. We also spoke on the phone 3-4 times and was never notified about the LCD damage. They didn’t offer any resolution, just claimed it wasn’t their fault and would send it to Nikon and charge me more money to fix it. I don’t know who is to blame. The shipping provider or the camera repair shop. But without the box and showing signs of damage, I have to chalk it up as the camera shop. Lack of communication and unwillingness to work with me is the reason for this negative review.
