Good and fairly big place with lots of eating options. Food seems to be good and portion size is OK. You can bring your own food and eat here as well. Coffee is OK but not gr8 if you compare it with Tim Hortons or Starbucks. Options are salad bar, pizza, Mexican food, etc.,

Why are hospital food for both inpatient and general public so bad? I work in the hospital and buying food from the cafeteria is sometimes a relief from cooking and a treat for a hard day’s work. However it never ceases to amaze me that there seems to be no effort to cook well at all. Even a simple piece of pizza isn’t done right! A family member was confined and was on soft diet. The beef broth served is no more than Oxo beef bouillon mixed in hot water. Hospital food needs to improve. This is an institution where food should be healthy and done right at the same time.

Food was better than most hospitals but still low in quality. 1 star for food 1 star for price. Not cheap but not expensive. Limited selection.

This is a cafeteria in the Jimmy Patterson building at the hospital. Of course everything at the hospital costs more. There is the typical food stations like pizza and noodles. There is a section for baked goods, refrigerated drinks, and coffee. Then there is a self-serve salad bar where the contents are weighed at the cashier. I purchased a average size salad and it cost me $8.35. There are pre-packaged salads called "Buddha's Delight" at $9.99. You can get free water in small plastic cups that they supply. The seating area is huge. There is an old beat-up piano that is used to entertain people at certain times (I've never heard it being played). There are washrooms in the seating area.

Very average grab and go food. Not bad but not great. Decent enough for a satisfactory meal at the hospital.

This cafeteria is located on 2nd floor at VGH. Food prices are a bit more expensive but food quality is decent and staff are friendly. But what is not expensive nowadays? Everything is expensive. The cafeteria eating area is big and roomy. Great place to wait while in the hospital.

Haven't eaten here for a decade when I was a student until recently. Due to time constraint, this was the most convenient alternative besides Cafe Ami. If you're not in the mood for sandwiches or waiting in line, this is a better choice. There are sandwiches, chicken fingers, and salads here. Most food is pre-cooked due to the traffic. I grabbed some chicken fingers and fries for $10.99. The choice of sauce was honey mustard or bbq. However, they were out of bbq sauce. The chicken fingers were decent and tasty. It's not the best, but you don't expect that at a hospital. The fries were the oven-roasted style which again, was good enough. If you can't make the walk outside to Broadway to eat, the cafeteria fills your stomach.
