Dr Lucretia van den Berg is a quiet spoken, gentle, caring person. She's practical and extremely thorough.

I was pleasantly surprised how personable she is. She specializes in weight loss and definitely knows that area extremely well.

She is so thorough and so helpful, an advocate for my health, and extremely professional. I highly recommend Dr. Vandenberg to anyone and I am glad that I was able to see her.

I went to this doctor for weight loss. Diet and exercise had not affected my weight in 4+ years after an initial loss of 30 lbs. In an earlier session, one drug suggested was liraglutide (aka Saxsenda). On my return, she ordered a list of blood tests to assess my glucose, testosterone and other factors. The blood clinic in the region allows patients to log in to see their blood work directly. I did that and extrapolated that my testosterone was abnormally low. When I sat down next with the doctor, she loaded up a Saxenda injector pen and instructed me to take a shot. I am very leery of injecting unknown substances into my body. I asked what the method of interaction was and what the drug would do. She basically said, "it's for weight loss." I took the shot. I asked her about my testosterone levels how that factored in. She was unaware of the test results until I alerted her that they were available. That medication costs something like $800+ per month-- not a trivial undertaking. I had lots of side effects and not much weight loss. I saw her again and said that I was having a lot of side effects. She prescribed Contrave. Again: I asked "what is the method of action" and "what are the side effects." She again said, "it's for weight loss." She skipped over: nausea, headache, vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, dizziness, trouble sleeping (insomnia), dry mouth, anxiety, hot flashes, fatigue, tremor, abdominal pain, flu symptoms, ringing in the ears, urinary tract infection, high blood pressure, increased sweating, changes in taste, rash, muscle strain, palpitations, problems with attention, lightheadedness, or fainting. And: Contrave is an anti-depressant. I cannot speak for everyone else's interactions with the doctor, but I can say that I didn't feel she was using evidence based decision making given that she gave me a prescription before considering the lab results. I am concerned that two mood altering drugs were the only course of action suggested by an endocrinologist.

This Dr has given my husband the run around since day 1. She was extremely condescending in his first phone appointment, dissmissive of his questions about more recent diabetic treatments, and even refused to help with necessary paperwork. In addition to this, she has rescheduled his follow up appointment 3 times. My husband had to book a day off work just to attend an appoitment in person which she didn't even show up for resulting in a loss of pay for our family. Its disgraceful that our system permits Drs to get away with mistreatment of patients. No standard of care at all. I cannot believe this person is even allowed to practice medicine with this clear neglect for patients needing care. Given other reviews its obviously a pattern. Would NOT recommend

Worse than useless. I was referred to her and had an appointment. She didn't have a receptionist. I sat in the telehealth lobby for 3hrs with no reply. It took 3hrs of calling her office to get a response, and all she said was that she couldn't find her chart and she couldn't help me and that I should go get a new referral to a different endocrinologist. My medication that I rely on for the rest of my life is running out, and she refused to even consider helping. Avoid this incompetent practitioner at all costs.

Not sure about these negative comments this doctor is receiving, but I have had nothing but excellent professional care. She took tge time to explain what the cause of my pain was, options to correct the issue, any cost that might be involved, risk factors etc.
