Zero return policy, an exchange policy on clothing only, zero til-end-of-day holds. Books and most else have gone up in price by triple (not to mention the waste of paper and man hours stickering each individual book/movie/vhs). Prices are almost the same or more expensive than buying new.

Prices are ridiculous at VV now. I went looking for work/workout clothes and all clothes that were very worn out and used were going for 10-20$. They should’ve been priced between 2-4$. I ended up going to Walmart to buy brand new clothes for 20$ and under. Not impressed with the prices and quality of clothes. I wouldn’t recommend going here unless you have hours to sort though clothes to find the little amount of clothes that are being sold for a good deal.

This outlet was my 'go-to' place for used books as they were reasonably priced. It was my mistaken belief, shared by many others, that the proceeds from Value Village's 100% donated merchandise went toward charitable causes. Wow....was I fooled!!!!! Firstly, the profits from the sale of their 100% free, donated items go directly into the pockets of the owners of the franchise. Secondly, the prices for much of Value Village merchandise has increased to levels where they are now on par with new, same items at places such as Walmart. Books that used to be reasonably priced are now individually sticker priced at ridiculously high prices. This realistically and truthfully reflects Value Villge's "New Corporate" money-grabbing mantra.....focus on the "profit bottom-line" and the hell with the customer.

Used to love book shopping here as books were anywhere from $2-$6 max. Went there the other day and now they’ve put stickers on each individual books and some books are going for $15 each. There’s no reason a used book should be so expensive when you can get brand new books for the same price on Amazon. Seems like price gouging to me ??‍♀️ Besides that, stickers are a pain to get off covers.

I wonder how much longer this company will survive since their prices have soared and its often cheaper to buy them brand new instead of supporting this place. Also hearing they removed their change rooms which is a ridiculous and poor management decision on their part as they sell "clothes" so their sales will decrease on that factor alone. My suggestion to anyone is to simply not donate to this for profit corporation as it is not the best way to reach out to those who actually need second hand items. Support your local thrift stores and charities in town would be my advice ☺

If you look for the right stuff, there are really good value clothes in there. Bought warmers and toque that is new and has still tag on it. The wool coat without price was tagged immediately. Clerk 002055 (Register 00004, Oper 2055) at around 20:56 was nice and helpful. She is fast and warm! On the flip side, a girl who helps around don’t know where to lead the customers.

They did away with the fitting rooms!!!!!Are you kidding me????They mostly sell clothes. And I can't try them on??? Yeah, they extended their change policy. But I am not doing a 300 km round-trip to bring back stuff that doesn't fit! This is it! No more clothes shopping for me there! Salvation Army still has fitting rooms and cheaper prices too.

They have no change rooms. They closed them initially due to Covid, but have since removed them completely and have stated they have no intention in having them again. So nothing can be tried on. Every time I buy stuff there's always one or two things that have to be returned for exchange due to sizing issues, which makes shopping here more of a hassle than anything else. That said, it's great if you're looking for something stylish that isn't mass produced and on every second person (although they carry that stuff too). Major downfall & main reason for the 1 star is how much junk they have that they seriously overprice. Half of their stock is stained &/or ripped yet they still put it out and charge too much!! I can't count how many times I've seen a grease stained shirt being sold for $10+....which is even a ridiculous price for an UNstained, used shirt in a thrift store!! They hire people whose sole job is to sort through donations....are they hiring blind people for the job? Do they work in near darkness? And who prices this stuff? I've seen clothing with the original store tags still on being sold for like $6 or $7 and well used clothing with stains or rips/holes being sold for double that!! THIS PIC IS RECENT (02/22) THESE MEN'S JOGGERS WERE PRICED $10.99!! I'll continue to add more until they smarten up!!
