★ ★ ★ ★ ★ An excellent kosher place. Food is lovely. Service is good.
It has been pointed out that it isn't technically kosher...perhaps "kosher style" would have been more correct.
Never the less, the food and service was really good. I will go back.
I love exploring new cultural experiences....but lox, borscht, and potatoe latkes aren't new me....these are part of my family experience.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Always a feel good experience at United bakery. The food is delicious and the staff are so warm and welcoming. My family has been coming here for over 20 years in three generations. It’s like home. The best pea soup and Greek salad in the city. And the kids love the challah French toast and mac & cheese. Never disappoints.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Worth a trip just for the split pea soup. Really appreciate the friendly service. Like the fact that you can get small portions for instance a single latke. Will never pass by without picking up a litre of soup. Love their salad with caramelized pecans.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Go here! After two weeks on the road Google Maps lead us here as we made our way to the highway. Feel v lucky about that. What little gem of a place. So nice to have property hearty, healthy homemade food. The PEA SOUP was so good that we ordered another one. The staff were great and the owner came over for a light chat, lovely lady,.. and we left with a complimentary cookie for my kid.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Havent been here in ages - decided to stop in for lunch. Such friendly and attentive service - much appreciated ! Tried the pea soup based on other reviews- it did not disappoint- it was fresh and hearty.
Had the cream cheese scoop platter - veg were super fresh, bagel was great and so was the schmear.
Coffee was hot and topped up often too!
Will absolutely be returning here for a quick snack or lunch and will be bringing the family too.
So refreshing to visit such a warm atmosphere with great food!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overall really good for a casual, no-fuss kind of place. We ordered the bagel lox and it was delicious! Pea soup is also really nice but a bit too sweet. Cookies were straight up stale. Stick to the salads, bagels and soups!
I should also add that the staff (cashier especially!) is awesome and helpful!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Come on. What’s not to love about this Toronto Jewish institution. The famous pea soup lives up to its reputation alone. Never leave without a full tub of the good stuff.
The blintzes are good, latkes good. I like the Mac and cheese but I like to share. Kasha bowties are a nice treat too.
