The owner is completely RUDE. (of the gas station) They try to intimidate everyone going in there and will try to raggle cash outta your pocket for no reason

He advertises that his propane is 75.9. I took in a 20 lb tank that was not completely empty and he charged me $20-00. When I asked him how much propane he put in he kept on saying that I should go to the other places and see what they charge. I will not recommend anybody to go and support him.

DO NOT RENT FROM THIS LOCATION. I had to go to Kelowna to rent for a move that was entirely within Lake Country. He was completely rude and arrogant. He started by getting upset I was asking him about reserving a truck 20 minutes before closing which is 5;30 pm. He actually did not answer anything at all. He just muttered something about the time and walked away. He then took his pit bull off its chain and led him toward me on a 10 ft leash then proceeded to make a phone call and completely ignored me while his dog stared at me. I mentioned my experience with him to the Kelowna U Haul and she said they hear that A LOT. I hate to even put the one star as it seems too good for him.

This was the worst U-Haul experience my family has had. We completely recommend using the company, but this location was very bad. I did share this with U-Haul in their automatic survey, but have not heard back. After reading the reviews below - a 2.8 out of 5 seems like this is a normal experience. For me, no one was following regular public health guidelines ("owner" guy, nor customers or people "visiting"). His Pitt Bull, although super friendly, was everywhere - my partner is afraid of dogs so this made it tough for her. Then finally, the "owner" was aggressive and rude to my father when he returned the truck/blankets after a full day of moving. He was trying to charge $40 cash to my dad to fold the wool blankets we rented - which seemed very odd as they were completely clean, dry and all in one place - and then was angry when my dad said he would just fold them himself. He was then aggressive and angry and trying to get my dad to pay and extra $2/Litre to fill the U-Haul with what he originally claimed to be "the cheapest around" and we would be silly to fill up anywhere else... Overall, the worst experience with a U-Hual location I have seen - dirty truck, awful phone manors and customer service (did not have our blankets or trolley in the truck, so I had to go back... which is tough on a move day as time is precious), complete disregard of public health measures, aggressive and angry "owner" who was blatantly trying to up-charge for anything he could, dog (again super friendly, but still) running all over the place and just a general awful/upsetting experience. If you can pick up anywhere else, please do. If you absolutely need to get in Lake Country (which I did), then bring multiple people with you - lucky we had my dad who was not putting up with any of his shenanigans. Be safe folks

Worst customer service and very rude semi angry owner. Shop is a disaster and filthy and had zero patience or common courtesy. The trailer was booked 2 weeks in advance and he had zero clue about it. The pick up process was stressful and a complete nightmare. Not the way you want to start on a moving day that is already stressful. Would not ever recommend this location. EVER! I'd move my moving date before using this location again. If I could give a negative star I would. He should not be in business at all!

I am extremely disappointed in my experience at this location. I booked my equipment online in advance and also checked in online for what I anticipated would be a quick and hassle free pick up experience. I could not have been more wrong. On entering the pickup location office, no one was following the mandated Covid-19 masking protocols. The staff and the one or two patrons in the storefront were not wearing masks or physical distancing. Further, the staff member checking me out was rude, uncommunicative, and actively berated me for wearing a mask in the building. The checkout experience was very unpleasant. I had to speak to someone on the phone who was off-site to complete my rental, which I have never had to do before at a UHaul location, and I did not appreciate having to hold the phone in the office up to my face that had clearly not been sanitized beforehand. I also did not appreciate being sworn at several times by the staff member completing my checkout throughout the process. After assisting the staff member with hooking up the equipment to my tow vehicle, I was not offered any opportunity to inspect the equipment, only to "sign here" with the rental contract. Upon arriving at my home to start packing the trailer, I opened the trailer and found lots of mouldy dirt and what appeared to be either rotting dog food kibbles or rodent droppings. If you plan to rent equipment from a UHaul location, stay far away from this one!

Great experience. Owner Jo and his wife were very helpful. Don't believe the 'the owner is rude' comments. The owner is originally from Italy and perhaps those soft Canadians out there might not get the straightforward and business minded attitude. Jo was very very helpful. Do business with respect, you get amazing service with heart. Will rent from this location again. Also, we think his shop dog and our 7 year old daughter are now friends for life.
