Do not come here unless you want to waste your time. I had a reservation for 10am and upon arrival the sole employee insists he must sweep and wash the floor. He disappeared for 10 minutes and came back with a bucket of soapy water. I insisted I was in a hurry but that didn’t matter, after washing the floor he disappeared for another 10 minutes and came back with a broom. After about 30 minutes he informs me that the debit machine is down, meaning I can’t pay the deposit. This dealer is a complete joke and should not have a job. The inside of the shop is a complete mess and would make anyone claustrophobic. Take your business elsewhere, this dealer will only provide you with a waste of time and a headache.

This place is a complete gong show, expect to wait multiple hours for your rental that you reserved weeks in advance and checked in online for. After waiting close to an hour for one customer to check in somebody who knows what they are doing finally showed up and had me checked in and on my way in 5 minutes. Do not count on getting your vehicle anywhere close to the time you ordered it.

Ha ha, don't come here unless you're prepared to wait two hours to get your truck or trailer. And even if it's raining you'll wait outside and if you go into your car to warm up people will jump ahead of you and everyone gets angry and desperate. Last time I was there he rented the same truck to two people and there was a screaming match. It gets crazy. Why go here? They have all the trucks. If you do go try and avoid the end of the month when everyone is moving. Come later in the day to try and avoid the wait. No guarantee though. When I dropped my truck off at 2:30pm there was a forlorn guy at the entrance who has been there two hours. As someone else said, gong show.

This place should be shut down. Not only is the owner completely unable to do his job, he doesn't bother to wear a mask and asked ME to answer the phone for him when head office called back because he couldn't figure out how to do his job. You are wasting your time going there. Would be quicker and easier to rent from Nanaimo or Campbell river and drive it here. The time you save would balance out the cost of moving too, because if you reserve for 10 for example, you are going to be waiting 2+ hours for it with no refund or change to your return time. It's a terrible business.

I reserved my U-Haul at the end of January to pick up at the end of April and there wasn't a truck available for us. We were sent to Coombs to pick it up instead, which was not an extra hour and a half of gas and time we wanted to spend.

To all the people who pick on Robert, stop! He does the best that he can! He has disabilities & if you actually took the time to talk to him like a human being, maybe you would see that??? He is super nice, funny, & very kind, his father ran the store for years & now he is basically on his own, now that his father is much older. He does sometimes have a hard time figuring something out, cause they're always changing how to enter things into computers. He is only human, so just have some patience & be calm & he can sort stuff out quicker. He just can't do that, if you stress him out or if you're impatient with him. Please, try to be kinder to him & other service people, they are just trying to do a job to help you.

Do NOT go to this location! He was late, his terminal wasn't working/forgot password, his phone wasn't working. I had to do his job to sign out/sign in the uhaul trailer. The place was dirty and disorganized. Terrible experience, terrible business practices. AVOID AVOID AVOID

I’m torn here… Robert who runs this place is a lovely man who cares about his job. He is born and raised in Courtenay and took over for his aging father. Unfortunately, his vision is poor and and isn’t great with computers. It takes a while to pick up your reservation and drop it off. I find if you help him along with the steps for pick up things go faster. Especially with the computer. The building has flooded sometime in the past and has never been repaired. The back room has half an inch of water on the ground, has no lights and is full of mould. I wish the building’s owner did something about this. I will continue to give them my business when I am not in a rush
