4-4.5/5 stars. The food was delicious but the reason for knocking off one star was for the price (felt it was slightly expensive for what we got) and authenticity (yummy, yes, but didn't feel very Thai). The green curry was my favorite.

I have ordered here twice in the past couple months with the same menu: Pad Thai and Green Curry Chicken. In comparison to other Thai restaurants I’ve been, I can say that Twinkle Thai is hard to beat. Their pad thai is way better or shall I say its the closest to being authentic which is the exact kind you get when you’re in Thailand. Also, they are quick to prepare your order which is about 15-20min, not bad. Location is very convenient, place is tiny but tidy, and a very pleasant costumer service. My 4 star rating might change by the time I get to try more menus other than these two.

The reviews for this place must be fake, or put on by people who have never had Thai food because this is some of the worst I've had. Given the pricing, I would expect something similar to Kin Kao or Sawasdee. But instead what I received was comparable to something found in a mall in some Midwestern backwater. The Panang curry was an insult to the name: bland, thin, and containing what was obviously frozen mixed veggies, like you would find in a supermarket.

Super disappointed in this place. We got two curries which were both watery and very flat in flavour, the papaya salad Thai which we got spicy. In fairness to them, the papaya salad was hot…too hot. As in the chili was too spicy to taste any real flavour and it was so hot that I was uncomfortable and couldn’t finish. Also, there were so many pieces of shallot/onion skin. How could they charge for that level of sloppiness? We also got pad kee mao which was peppery but plain, and chicken satay which was good but tasted like any grocery store curry powder. Also the veggies in the curry were literally frozen soup mix. Not worth the price they charge, for that cost I would go to Sawasdee or Kin Khao.

Delicious meal. Ordered pad thai, pepper beef, vegetable fried rice, yellow curry and spring rolls. Everything was fresh, tasty and we all loved it. Four of us enjoyed a fabulous meal with leftovers. Will definitely order again. Thanks for a terrific meal.

Recently, a new take-out restaurant opened on Kingsway called Twinkle Thai (in the former location of First Choice Chinese). This new Thai restaurant is the brain child of the former owners of Sticky Rice Thai & Asian Cuisine in Surrey. While Sticky Rice Thai was a full-scale sit-down restaurant, the owners decided to scale things back and just focus on take-out now. That being said, there is a small bar-like area by the entrance with 6 side-by-side seats to accommodate individuals that just want to eat their food on-site. On my first visit, I ordered their Green Curry Chicken with Rice lunch special ($13.95). The curry was quite good (they make their own sauces) and had crunchy red and green peppers, large chunks of tender eggplant and chicken, as well as basil. There’s just a hint of medium spice level here that’s not overwhelming. On my next visit, I tried their Pad Thai ($11.95) with chicken, tofu, carrots, sprouts, egg, and onions with a mild sauce. The rice noodles that they use here are of the thinner variety but are nice and toothsome. At the end of November, I ordered their Red Curry Chicken lunch special ($14.95) which comes with a hot and spicy sauce, big cut pieces of tender chicken, bamboo shoots, basil, and peppers. Unfortunately, they decided to stop serving lunch and just focus on take-out during dinnertime.

Our first time trying (Take Out) and it was excellent, fresh, authentic and most of all balanced! Papaya Salad was spicy and tangy, Tom Yum was an excellent portion with lots of meat, Basil Stir Fry was not too sweet as was the Red Curry.
