About Trans Canada Pet Clinic
The Trans Canada Pet Clinic was started by Dr. James Brown in June of 2003. Dr. Brown served the community for 11 years before making the decision to retire and entrusting the care of his patients to Dr. Das who purchased the clinic in 2014. After many years of dedicated service to the Dryden area, Dr. Das made the decision to sell the practice. Dr. Joel Habinski purchased the clinic in March of 2021. Before becoming a veterinary practice owner, he spent three years practicing small and large animal medicine in the Dryden area.
Dr. Habinski received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Guelph in 2013. He then attended St. George’s University’s School of Veterinary Medicine in Grenada, West Indies. He graduated in 2017 after spending a year in Saskatoon at the Western College of Veterinary Medicine.
Having both grown up in Sioux Lookout, Joel and his wife, Andrea, knew they wanted to return to Northwestern Ontario after graduating from their post-secondary studies. They appreciate the landscape and lifestyle that the area offers as well as the ability to be close to family. In their spare time, they enjoy the outdoors and spending time with their 2 cats, 3 dogs, and 4 horses.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent service, friendly staff. Dr Das is a very nice man and he is great with my puppy. He is knowledgeable and very gentle. The clinic is spic and span and there is a nice big yard to let your dog have that last minute pee. Very happy with Trans Canada Pet Clinic!!

Im from Toronto and took my pup on a road trip after finding out she has cancer ..they called me when I was 16 hours away from home and said she needs antibiotics her white cell count is extremely low after her chemo soo I almost panicked then realized no I have to get her prescription transferred and this clinic was amazing they let us transfer her records and prescription and had it ready for us when we passed thru!! Amazing experience the techs and vet were amazingly nice and I appreciate their kindness soo soo much

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I emailed the clinic to see if I could make a quick appointment for my Dad's senior cat. They got back to me within one business day and were able to get me in the same week. Dr. Habinski was so thorough, recommended the most important tests to have done within our limited price range, and explained in detail what the bloodwork showed and also what it ruled out as issues. He gave us evidence based recommendations and explained when to expect results and the next steps if we don't see improvement. We were very satisfied and will be staying with this clinic for future vet visits!
