Terrible phone service, basically, there is none. I have now waited on hold for 20 minutes two days ago and for 11 minutes today, both would have been longer except I finally hung up. Vets may be good but you can't book the appointment. I'm so very disappointed in their service. I'm a senior, I need to speak with someone. No one's there to help me, or my pet.

Terrible service. I have a senior dog. I called them on Nov. 4 with a problem. No call back. This problem turned into an emergency by Nov. 15. Now they can’t see her until Nov. 19. I did call at 8:30 a.m. most Veterinarians will keep an emergency appointment available for their clients. I realize vets are very busy. My dog cannot wait 5 days to see a doctor. Now I am forced to go to an emergency Vet and pay huge money.

The vet was beyond ignorant towards my blind mother who was there with our injured dog. He was sooooo hard to understand and kept saying we were wrong once we repeated our options to him, we had to get someone else to tell us what was going. The vet said we were looking at $7k-$10k and needed to do all these testing because our dog wouldnt let him touch the back legs which was a lie as we already touched them and found a cut. All he wanted was money, sedation and all this other stuff just for something that could fix himself according to the vet. So we ask to leave with pain medication since we were told he probably sprained or pinched something and the vet said your not allowed that's animal abuse... Yet this was one of our options pain medication for the weekend and then go back for x-rays. I would never recommend any Beattie's vets because all of them are scam artists. They just want the money and make you feel bad to get the money.

My experience with losing my 14 yo Boston Terrier was the most tragic and traumatic experience of my life. He had degenerative myelopathy so making the decision to put him to sleep was the hardest thing I (and my husband) have ever had to do. He began to struggle with swallowing water, as such, he ran a high risk of choking with food and water. He had lost control of his body beyond his waist. Figuring out diapers that would work along with his build cost me about $300. So, after 4 months of total fecal incontinence and a partner exhausted, once he struggled with swallowing, I made the decision to end his life. From start, to finish, NOTHING was okay. They put us in a room, then ignored us for 90 minutes. When I asked it to finally be time, some woman wearing a lab coat, who we had never met or seen, pushed both vials then put the yellow disposable stethoscope on his chest and simply said, "he is done." My companion of 14 years was just a job for her. Having grown up with companions, I was confused and angry at not having that little window to tell him "this will be okay." "Mum loves you more than anything on earth". But, no. That was October 25th 2021. Got an email about his annual exam and shots. Then followed my THREE calls over the following 12 weeks. When I called about this, I received, "oh, yeah. Okay. We will remove you from our list."

We took our puppy for her second set of needles today. We arrived 18 minutes late for our appointment. We live about a mile from the Clinic and travel by electric wheelchair. Our puppy had to hoof it, the longest trip in her life. As the trip unfolded, she had to stop a number of times to catch her breath. But we arrived 3 minutes later than their "grace period" allowed. We had never heard of this grace period. The Clinic was not swarming with clients. So as a reward for being 3 minutes late they canceled our appointment and we had to reschedule for the next day. It has left us with a VERY SOUR taste in our mouth. And we don't feel we have much choice of where to go because public transport services will not guarantee transportation for pet dogs and their wheelchair owners. We recognize that we were late. We realize that the Clinic has the right to make operating policies (be nice to know what they are). And we acknowledge that public transit has the right to have policies concerning dogs on their buses. But 3 minutes and cancel appointments is a bit much.

We were dog sitting a rather large puppy when she went into heat and became aggressive. We were at a loss after trying everything to control the situation. It was a long weekend but Beattie’s was open. I called and spoke to Emma and she gave me great advice. She really listened and was empathetic to the situation. I’m so grateful for her advice. Considering we were not clients, she was extremely helpful.

I called the clinic asked to have an in person appointment as my dog was not well (during covid) and the lady abruptly said I’m sorry we’re not doing in person appointments to keep our team safe only if you’re saying goodbye to your pet, I asked if their was any exceptions as he’s had a stroke (I believe) and blind, it would be a lot on his body. She then said β€œif you want to choose that care for your pet it’s your prerogative” in a condescending tone. I get we’re in a pandemic but the tone was not necessary, she could of came from a place of empathy. This clinic reception clerk is awful it was the same when I needed eye drops filled at the pharmacy here and when I call for a nail trimming. I will not allow a facility care for my pet when they cant even have proper phone adequate. Unacceptable, PERIOD.

I brought my new puppy for her second shot and it went well. Before leaving I scheduled the next appointment to see them in a month. After coming back for the second visit I found out that my appointment was never booked. I asked to accommodate us now that we were there. However it was declined stating that the veterinarian is on lunch and he/she will not do that. I asked for a discount on my next visit, however they said they do not give discounts. I felt that my time that they wasted for me was not important to them... NO COOL!
