I booked the Deluxe King Suite for my fiance's birthday, hoping we could do a nice downtown get away and cook him a birthday meal. Originally I booked for two nights and requested (if possible) for a nicer view (higher floor perhaps) and an earlier check-in as we are from just outside of the city and it would not take us long to get to the hotel. I was then met with an email back saying that the hotel has a no-party policy, and a very discouraging email from an individual named "Ann". I wrote back that we were not intending on having a party and just wanted a nice get-away but was more than willing to take my business elsewhere. Ann apologized and assured me that we will be guaranteed a room with a nice view. We ultimately ended up changing our reservation to one night only due to work commitments. I called the hotel two days before our arrival to confirm what type of kitchen supplies were available. The individual who answered not only told me that they were unsure of what was supplied in the room, but answered very unprofessionally to my questions. The day of our booking, they did not notify me if our request for an early check-in was approved and when we arrive at the hotel at 1pm they were "unsure if a room was available for us at that time". We were lucky to be provided with a room on the 5th floor, which the window faced construction. Although we were promised a nice view, I decided not to bother with calling the front desk as again, we were only having a one-night get away and did not care much considering the balcony is locked and not accessible anyways. Then my fiance discovered that the tap water initially was giving out murky water and had to run the kitchen sink tap for 5 minutes before getting clear water. Again, we did not call to report it as perhaps the rooms were not as used because of the pandemic and the taps just needed to take some time to adjust. My partner then went to lay down to take a nap and I began to prep dinner. As I am prepping I noticed the following: 1) The room barely provides you with kitchen supplies. The knife we had was broken and could have easily fallen out of the handle at any moment, there was no dish soap to handwash the dishes with. Everything was very basic and I was glad I brought my own supplies (i.e bowls) otherwise the kitchen would have been useless to me. 2) The water from the tap fluctuated in temperature. One minute it would be ice cold and the next warm. The reason why we decided to check out was because as I was prepping food, a cockroach came out from under the stove top. All of the food I brought came in packages so I know for a fact this bug did not come from my food. But again, I just killed it and continued to prep thinking that perhaps it was just one. But I was wrong. A second came out shortly after and at that point I had enough. I called the front-desk where the worker said he did not know what a cockroach was and even after I explained that it was a bug that infests spaces he could not offer me a solution. Only after speaking with a manager was I offered the opportunity to change rooms and be refunded for my $30 parking (after spending $200+ for my stay). Originally I was going to look past it but then ANOTHER came out. I told the front desk I wanted my money back and within 15 minutes my partner and I had packed and booked at another hotel. The hotel is not up to par. I was reading reviews and I could not have imagined the disappointment I went through. Besides what was described above, a few other things can be noted: - This is definitely not a 5-star hotel, which is FINE. Nothing wrong with that. But it is also not as advertised. Our space was much smaller than what was show in the photos, it did not have a full dining area as shown in the photos and it felt small and almost empty at points - The elevators are seldomly available and smelled like smoke - The place was OKAY in cleanliness but defiantly not clean Sorry but I cannot recommend after this.

This is an amazing place to stay in the core of Toronto. I had issues with my reservation made through a third party website. Danny was extremely helpful and bent over backwards to honor our reservation. It's the only place I'll stay from now on. The rooms are beautiful and the service is outstanding.

Deluxe King Suite (Room 501) Pros: friendly staff, had full kitchen, two TVs, n seating area Cons: - Room was very cold, asked for two blankets received one and had to call back for a second - Maintenance came to fix heat and it helped in the living room not the bedroom (The next morning when I got up to take a shower and check the room to make sure I didn't forget anything I noticed all of this) - Shower did not drain properly - When it finally did I noticed a razor left in there from the previous guest (shower was not cleaned) - Bed sheets were dirty (it was a few layers down) - Dirty pillow cases - Moth in washroom - Blonde hair all over the floor that stuck to our socks (my hair is black) - Bed not the comfiest When I spoke to the front desk they gave me free parking and $30 off my upgraded room. I didn't want to make a scene so I took it. When I got home I realized that means I still paid the full price of a basic room and that's not ok. I sent an email with photos and details and didn't hear back. Although the staff were very friendly this is unacceptable especially during Covid when cleaning should be number one priority. I definitely do not recommend this hotel and make sure you check your bed and washroom before you stay there.

I only have a three day stay and considering the location of the hotel, groceries and food was not a problem. However complimentary breakfast is not actually a full level breakfast because there is not much to eat apart from croissant and sweat buns. It was a bit disappointing. There is no room service either but you get asked if there is any need for refil on towels or other amenities. There is a door that doesn't open and doesn't have a shade to close to outside. I presumed it is not a see through type. The location of the hotel couldn't have been any better. I really liked that aspect.

Very convenient location. Helpful staff. Definitely an aged hotel, however, the quality trade off compared to other places is forgiving. I would consider booking here again if I visit Toronto again.

My room was disgusting when I checked in. Hair in the shower and even in the cupboards. Cups had old coffee in them. Was then β€œupgraded” to a larger room (because no others were available). Upon settling into this room, I helped myself to a nice cup of brown water out of the tap. The baseboards were covered in stains, hair stuck to the mirror. The manager was extremely rude and accused me of lying. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. The quality of house keeping is less than desirable to put it nicely . There was also mold around the windows, some of which didn’t close. Better off to blow your cash on beer and sleep on the sidewalk , you’d wake up just as clean with a better story.

Decent service, comfortable bed and good price for the location, but the room we were in (and surely many of not all others) was quite run down (flooring, paint job, cabinetry sagging). The hallways and elevators are also claustrophobic, and that's a feature that won't be fixed through room updates.

Check in was an absolute nightmare. The guest service agent that checked me in took one phone call and made two others during the check in. Parking was an underground lot that was under construction, so there was one lane in and out, and the vehicles parked down there were covered in dirt and dust when we pulled in. We then had to haul our wheeled luggage up two flights of stairs to get to the elevators (good luck to anyone with a handicap). After waiting several minutes for the elevator, which fit 2 staff and two guests, we arrived at a room that was not as described when booked. I will never stay at this hotel again. If I hadn't prepaid, I would leave and find something else immediately. 0/10. Do not stay here.
