Total was referred to us by our insurance company following the hail storms in June after issues with the first contractor that showed up. Total let us know they’d be 4-6 business days to attend and inspect. Unfortunately due to the volume of inspections after the storm a time couldn’t be booked, which was understandable. They showed up on day 4 or 5, took pictures and quantified damage i didn’t even see! My siding is old so they took a piece with them to be sent off. This was odd to me but after talking with the project manager she advised this is protocol when siding is non-matching, a clean un-damaged piece is sent to an independent body to ascertian the type, brand, and colour. Lucky for us our siding was non-matchable. Work got underway last week and so far our experience has been 2nd to none. I highly recommend Total, their professionalism and overwhelming knowledge of all things exteriors has been a breathe of fresh of air. Thank you Total for your care and attention to our claim.

I had a wonderful experience with Total Exteriors. They completed work to a rental property i live at. I dealt with Karlie in their office mostly, and she was an absolute pleasure to deal with. Whenever we spoke with her or had an issue she made sure it was directed to the right people and always followed up with us. I'm very thankful my landlord used this company, and very thankful to have such an attentive person like Karlie helping us through the process.

Called them to ask about getting a quote for a roof replacement. The lady who answered the call, first asks, "Are you going to go with us bc we get a lot of people comparing 'apples to apples'". Then she proceeded to ask me to pay upfront before they can give me a quote and claimed, "if you decide to go with us, the fee for the quote will go towards the work you have done from us". I told her to take a hike - I'm not paying anything without getting the quote and having an idea of what you charge. For all I know, they could be charging double what they competitors do. Called a couple other local roofing contractors and neither of them asked for $$ for the quote or prior to the quote. Based on looking at their other reviews, the company doesn't care enough to respond to reviews and in the unlikely event they do respond, I'm sure the response will be, "we have no record of you phoning us". Well, if you are looking to get your roof replaced, call them and see what the lady who answers the calls says when you ask about getting a quote. You will find out pretty quick if my experience is the way this company operates.

Rude and un-professional over the phone- similar experience to some of the other google reviews. This was before I even had anything signed with them. I cannot imagine how they must be to deal with once you have signed an agreement and paid them. They seem to be quite arrogant and full of themselves - saw a sign posted by them stating, "We are outsmarting mother nature" - the sign indicated total exteriors on the bottom. Really? The sign was spotted on the condos on saddletowne circle NE calgary. There are many other reputable local roofing companies out there with much more favorable reviews. Stay away from this un-professional and arrogant company

read your contract----- especially if it is from your insurance company, don't trust them-- they have 2 years to COMPLETE YOUR PROJECT.. NO SUPPLIES, winter season etc.. MONEY FIRST--- DELAY FOREVER to all their VICTIM, let us join together to file a complaint

They did the full replacement on the roof with class-4 shingles, full siding, downpipes, eavestrough and fascia. They finished the job on time as they promised and were done professionally. They also clean-up nicely afterwards. A job well done and a big thank you from us.

Total Exteriors was great to work with in repair of the exterior of my home post hail damage. They did everything in a timely fashion, even with the extreme increase of call volume they had. They communicated amazingly and kept me updated on everything being done and the expected schedule. Highly recommend!

I was extremely disappointed with the overall lack of communication from this company. They were recommended to us by our insurance company as a preferred vendor and I wish that I would have taken more time to research and find a different company. They replaced siding on the house and garage, soft metals, eaves and the roof on both the house and garage after hail damage in June. They were terrible at communicating with us about when work would be done, how long things would take, responding to phone calls, emails etc. I requested to see a sample of the siding that would be going up, that never happened. They removed siding from the house and would leave it for a while before coming back to repair it. Our yard is now also littered with garbage from the siding and roofing - we will need to do a thorough comb of the whole yard before spring as there is so much small stuff everywhere. On our roof there is still plastic pieces from the shingle install, which I assume were removed on install but weren't all collected as garbage. I would not recommend Total Exteriors to anyone in the future. While the work they did was good for the most part and it was completed I think that basic communication with your customers is important. It shouldn't take me emailing or calling several times and then have the insurance adjuster email them as well to get a response. I understand companies are busy, and then that hail damage this year was extensive and that it affected a lot of people. BUT my expectations for communication are NOT high, I think responding within 72 hours during business days or even 5 days would be fine (I feel this is VERY lenient). They would not respond for WEEKS!!! They would also just show up, they wouldn't tell us. The roofing on the house was done and then the garage was just left. We called the contractor to ask what was going on, to which they informed us that not enough shingles had been ordered and they would be coming back. But why not be upfront and communicate with your customers? Exterior work is an expensive job and I would not give my money to this company again in the future.
