Got a solar acrylic full set from here. Covid procedures are excellent and the store is very clean. Customer service is ok. I was expected to know what to-do when arriving to the salon, but it was my first time. QR code for covid screening questions wasn't explained in emails, on the website, or through listed instructions. The receptionist did help eventually though. Salon techs are polite and kind. My 2-star rating is because of the nails. The brush used to remove dust from filing nails was extremely dirty. It left more dust on my hands then from my initial filing. Application of the acrylics wasn't the best. No dehydrator solution was used, only the liquid used to activate acrylic powder. Other salons have specific dehydrating products the properly prep nails for acrylic. One tip was laid crooked. The finishing filing left my nails uneven, with flat areas nail polish did not cover up. Finally I had a nail break today after 1-week of wear. The break wasn't caused by an excessive force or getting caught. I wouldn't have even noticed if I didn't hear the nail fall onto the floor. This reason alone is why I decided to write this review. I've only had a nail break once from being slammed in a door. After 1-week the acrylic shouldn't be this brittle. For these reasons I won't be returning.

Asked to leave the salon!!!! My daughter and I had appointments booked this morning. We arrived with coffees, thinking as we would be seated behind a screen, this would be allowed. It’s the first time since Covid started that we have brought a coffee to a salon. Before we were even in the door, one of the techs came out and told us we could not bring our coffees in. OK, no problem. We returned them to the car. This tech is normally quite loud when she talks (this is not our first time here). Today was over the top. The conversation about coffee continues by the tech even as we removed our shoes and proceeded to wash our hands. It was overwhelming chatter and volume. Not what you want at a salon appointment, which is supposed to be a relaxing experience. We moved on to selecting our colours and the techs were literally standing right behind us. We asked for a moment to select our colours. By this time, the whole experience is becoming overwhelming and not at all relaxing. Colours selected, move over the work stations. We had each selected an accent colour for one nail. We were then informed it was an extra $5 for the accent colour. We were surprised and commented we had never been charged an extra $5 for an accent colour. The tech’s response was that β€œI can tell you are unhappy, come back another time”. My daughter questioned β€œAre you asking us to leave?” The response was β€œyes”. How the heck they are getting readers choice awards with this type of β€œcustomer service” is beyond me. The other tech who was supposed to do my nails, was quiet and clearly embarrassed. We left without a fuss. We will not be returning. They even had the nerve to send a β€œno show” email to us. Don’t waste your money here. Very disappointed.

I have come to this salon a few times and last Friday was definitely my last! My first impression was, why is this particular girl (Tina) talking about other tech's in the salon and putting them down. I didn't like hearing her talk about other people so negative and made several positive comments trying to defuse her attitude. Especially in front of customers, total no, no! At first I always had shellac and then it was recommended that I go with solar gel which I did. I went in for a solar refill and pointed out that I don't know what happened but on one nail the solar just cracked. I was not upset about it but rather just asked a question as to why this may have happened, I figured paying $100 (cash) which in my opinion, is totally overpriced!! I could have at least been given a reasonable answer but instead, Tina took my question personal and accused me of wanting everything perfect. I said, Tina I not once asked for anything to look perfect, I was simply asking a question. There are signs everywhere stating, "we want our customers to be happy" so if you have any problems please let us know and we will correct it. Really? Well maybe you can stand behind that statement! You figure when your spending this much money maybe there is a reason that the solar cracks and possibly recommend another option. Tina simple got up part way through and said, someone else is going to finish your nails. I could not believe her attitude towards me for asking a simple question. It was very unprofessional behavior from Tina in front of many people in the salon. I have never felt so embarrassed. How unprofessional! TOMI, perhaps you need to have a chat with your sister on how she treats customers when they ask a simple question.

Loved talking with Tommy today. Very serious covid precautions here which is great to know. Tommy did an awesome job on my simple nails and we had great conversations. Super clean salon as well. Can’t wait to visit again!

I was very disappointed in my last service. I had been a casual customer of Tomi Nails 2.5 years ago pre pandemic. They had incredible customer service always welcoming you to their salon by your name and the place was spotless. I just visited yesterday and I felt rushed by the esthetician. She spent the whole time upselling me on other services and blunting telling me I needed a manicure in addition to my pedicure because my nails were so bad "you can't go on vacation with your hands like that" were her words. When you are paying for a service you hope to feel relaxed, and cared for, not rushed or judged. I left feeling anxious because of the pace she did my pedicure at as she rushed me out of the chair (appointment took less than 35 mins, for a PEDICURE!), while at the same try trying to convince me to stay for another service, why would I stay after you rushed my relaxing experience? Overall, I'm very disappointed with the service and the quality of pedicure. The only positive part of the experience was the friendliness of the receptionist.

They sent me a text message to leave a review about my appointment that they canceled without letting me know because I was ten minutes late on a snowy day!! The guy was standing at the door and he didn’t even give me the chance to talk or enter and said rudely I cancelled your appointment and called another customer, didn’t even offer to re-schedule! They didn’t even give me the chance to explain, Tomi or whoever the guy who was there is so rude, not welcoming and arrogant ! Cancelling my appointment and giving it to another customer upset me but I would have understood it if they dealt with it in a professional customer caring way. They need to learn to care for the customers more! Won’t go there again anyway, they lack gentleness, care and professionalism!

Amazing service!!! I had shellac nails done a few times and my experience has always been excellent. The technicians are very professional, skilled, and friendly. They care a lot about getting a perfect result and are very meticulous. Everything goes smoothly and efficiently too. Highly recommended!!

So I'm going to give a very honest review, so if you read all of this... good for you and thank you. I fought myself over a 4 or 3 star rating but decided a 4 as while the service was nice I'm also rating the product. First of all I got the solar nails and wanted a design. I also bite my nails I warned them of this and that I wanted a design. None of this was noted as I had to say I wanted a design several times but they were extremely helpful, helped me pick the best colors and explained pricing increase (which I expected with an added design) and overall the experience was good. Everyone was kind and my lady was very kind and tried to make small talk as much as possible. She accidentally caught me with the dremel once which she apologized several times for and I had no issues regarding the procedures otherwise. My biggest issue I have is that when you look at my nails and I mean look at them you'll notice some are very misshapen some are crooked and some go from small to big. And they are all different lengths. This is what made me want to go to a 3 as overall I went to get fake nails and fake is what I got. While that seems ironic I usually want my fake nails to look realistic, which I feel most people do. With that said it's been 2 weeks and they are still on so that is a plus and I would most likely go again just might be a bit more picky next time. Oh and they had me done within an hour so they were definitely quick which was nice but may have been what affected the look of the nails. If you read this far thank you, I hope this was helpful.
