★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Glamping for backcountry standards.
There's essentially everything you'd need right there. Which takes away a bit from our experience as backcountry campers.
However, for families or people with less mobility these sites are prime and very safe.
Saw some deer moving around the camp around sunset every day we were there.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Besides the hike up to elbow lake, the hike to the tombstone lake campground is flat and easy with great views of the valley. The campground is nice itself, it has gravel plots for tents, however the gravel is quite uncomfortable and it would probably be better with just grass.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great Backcountry site. Beautiful tent pads, lots of picnic tables in a separate area. Many bear lockers and benches for socializing. Fire pits and fire wood available (not used due to fire ban at the time).

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Amazing place. Great to be at a backcountry bcampsite and away from the generators at regular campgrounds. The firewood is provided by Alberta Parks here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fairly easy hike from Elbow Lake parking lot. From highway 40, the elevation gain is 200+ meters and a distance of approximately 7.5 kilometers. Excellent views from the campsite, plus every site has a firepit.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Excellent trail for leg day! Not too busy, well used so no overgrowth. Steep ascending trail from the parking lot. This would be a very difficult trail for anyone not in full control of thier lower limbs. There are no rope aids for any section. Kids n dogs are certainly able to get around, horses are also on this trail.. Which would be an option for anyone challenged with lower limb control.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Very nice campground. Plenty of amenities and supplies.
Nicely laid out pathways and reflective signs for identification at night.
Unfortunately, no map of the campground amenities and sites is posted, but wouldn't say it's necessary.
Easy access to river by many of the campsites.
The campsites can be single plots or 2 next to one another if you're going in groups.
Good coverage by trees if you want to out up an extra tarp.
Plenty of areas for campfires (at least 3) and lots of seating. Plenty of firewood provided on site with an axe for splitting, if needed.
Bear bin lockers and a large storage container for food. Small lockers have option for a lock to be put on them to prevent theft.
Grey water disposal spot provided at the group cooking area.
