Pine Falls Lodge is nestled on a beautiful site between two lakes on the historic Chiniguchi River waterway. This vacation spot offers cabin rentals and camping options in a unique remote location surrounded by crown land with a waterfall created by controlled dam.
About Pine Falls Lodge
Pine Falls Lodge was the vision of Delma and Frank Hart the 2nd. Their grave site monuments can be seen on top of the rock across the dam. Frank Hart first saw the property while visiting the area in 1945 and the main lodge - as seen in the image to the left - was erected in 1946. Over the next few years, they built five log cabins as well. For the first three years before the road was established, travel from Sudbury took half a day by rail to Washagami station where guests were then picked up and brought to the lodge. In 1955, their son Frank the 3rd led the installation of a water wheel to produce electricity for the lodge in place of the generator. Later, this was upgraded again with the addition of housing for the water wheel and a gate to control flow.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ We stayed with Pat and Amy as part of work-stay exchange, we planned for 2 weeks but ended up staying more like 4 weeks. During our time there we made contributions to the already incredible lodge amenities. We work together with Pat and Amy to revamp their veggie gardens, upgrade and develop new raised beds, did some general labor for the dock on the house boat, we build a new wood fire oven for pizzas that can be served to the guest (part of a future amenity for the lodge) it’s up an running pizzas are incredible. We had an incredible time with Pat and his family, what has been done in the property will blow your mind. Hydroelectric power for a complete off the grid place. Pine falls lodge is a landmark up on the northern Ontario area. What can I say about the host; the most generous, loving, hardworking, motivated and down to earth humans you will find around with their beautiful kids we adore.
Pine falls lodge a ever evolving lodge in the middle of to amazing lakes. It’s definitely a must.
