★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good stock for cigars and stuff but seems like the employees want to get back to their discussions w each other more than do the most for the customer, looked for zippo fuel w and empty zippo and bought some tobacco. They didn’t have any fuel stock for sale which is fine.. but there was a clearly open and used one behind the counter. When I said my zippo and only lighter was out of fuel the employee said “ oh well” and shrugged that’s what got me not even a “bummer” or an apology gave me a buy one or it’s not my problem vibe

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great place, I am someone who normally smokes tobacco Pipes but while on a trip to Winnipeg a friend and myself visited Thomas Hinds for some cigars to enjoy with some scotch I picked up. Being completely ignorant when it comes to cigars the gentleman working was very helpful in helping me choose something that I would enjoy based upon my preferences in pipe tobaccos (heavy Latakia English and Balkan blends), while I don't remember exactly what cigar I chose was, it was a good fit and went well with the smokey full bodied scotch I enjoy. A few days later I visited again while on a first date with a lass who was open to the idea also of enjoying scotch and cigars after dinner and again the same gentleman was very helpful in assisting her in choosing a cigar she might enjoy, which she ended up loving. During this second visit I also picked up a nice 2022 Peterson of Dublin #999 St Patrick's Day pipe that smokes like a dream.
I have since found out this gents name is Rob Schellenburg from watching a Whiskey podcast on YouTube where he spoke a bit about being part of the group who took over ownership of Thomas Hinds. He really is doing good things with this business and I am happy to have supported it.
This is definitely the place to visit in Winnipeg for quality cigars and Tobacco pipes, I wish I could give more than five stars for the service I received. I will definitely be frequenting this place every time I visit Winnipeg.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Good selection of pipe tobacco but not the cheapest place in the world. Definitely worth a visit if you smoke pipes or cigars, their house Balkan is fantastic and balanced with smoky latakia and I presume bright Virginia's, One of the only places in Winnipeg that I can think of with a significant selection of non aromatic pipe tobacco.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ By far the best tobacconist in the city, large humidor with wide variety. Many pipes and accoutrements also for sale. The adjacent smoking lounge is very nice and a welcome addition! Unfortunately the website doesn't provide much info.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Definitely the best place in Winnipeg for quality Tobacco. Probably one of the best in Canada. Great selection, very knowledgeable staff, lovely interior layout, and the sweet fragrance of fresh tobacco permeates the air. Absolutely one of my favourite stops when I visit Winnipeg.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Helpful and knowledgeable staff, a good selection of product, and everything is properly stored and maintained. Due to the nature of cigars very occasionally you'll get a dud (not their fault) but they will stand behind their product! You won't find that customer care at other tobacconists.
A little pricier and a bit challenging to get to since it's downtown, but given my customer experience there, I will happily visit them versus any other tobacconist! Thomas Hinds is great.
