They just ripped me off. Own a rented condo. Tenants noticed heat isn't working. Called them was charged $160 plus tax to inspect and replace filter only. No other work was done. Filter was an extra $10. Less than 48 hours later tenants noticed the same issue. These people insist they will charge us the full amount to service the unit again even though they have a so called "service guarantee". After a lot of back and forth they say ok we will come for free as long as it's the same issue. Lo and behold a new issue is made up we are charged $160 again. Not only that - the heat is still not working. My building has told me to call C2C mechanical instead. I call them back for my money and they refuse to refund it. One time the operator even pretended like she's just a appointment booked and doesn't actually charge me although I spoke to her on other occasions and she is clearly an employee. They will do the same to you. Do not use them.

I would recommend this company without hesitation. From my first contact with Pino in sales to service from Josh and then Jamie it was very pleasant and very efficient. Our condo needed to be assessed for problems with heating and we had to replace the heaters . The advice given and quick service was very welcome . I will certainly use this company again if needed.

Thermo Cool has serviced my heat pumps on 2 occasions. Each time the technicians arrived as scheduled and were very professional. They were happy to answer any of my questions and did a thorough job maintaining my heat pumps. I would happily recommend them to anyone and I will be using them again myself.

Overcharged Heater Service Call! The heater in our condominium unit was not working, the superintendent referred Thermo Cool to us, so we just called them for service on Feb 14th (Friday). They sent a technician Phil to our unit, he said the motor is partly sized, the capacitor and fan may need to be replace. But, he was not sure if this can fix the problem, he need to take the heater unit back to the shop for another test on next business day (Feb 18th, Tuesday), which will be another charge for $85+ (+HST). Even after the test, if they return the unit unrepaired, they will still charge you another $80 (+HST). He also said that since they have to order the parts from China, it may take at least 2 weeks to a month! In the worse case, may need to replace the entire unit. At the end, after so-called 2 hrs diagnostic checking, there is no solution, nothing is fixed or replaced, no proper quotation of cost and time frame until they do another test in their shop. We get nothing out of this and they charged $423.75. There was no heat in the unit, we can’t not wait for the unknown time and price, and the most important if they can fix the heater! We cancelled the Tuesday heater pick up test, and decided to call around and see if other company can help us. On Feb 15th Saturday, we called 3 different HVAC companies in GTA, the price for service checking and diagnosis is around $100-130 + HST, even on a Saturday! They charge by a fixed service fee not by hours, if they need to fix or replace parts, they will give you the cost and time frame. We used a HVAC company, they came on the Saturday night, after less the 1 hr checking, they be able to give us a quotation of labour, parts and time, if there is anything extra, they will get our approval first. Straight forward, transparency, clear and fair! Thermo Cool is totally overcharged! I called Thermo Cool, after they charged the credit card, no one answer my call, I left couple messages, no one call me back. After keep on calling, finally I speak to Angela of the billing department. She said she doesn’t understand what is the problem, she keeps saying that they offered to FIX the heater on the next business day, but we cancelled it! I explained to her that we didn’t get any quotation of what need to be fixed or replaced, how could they fix it on the next business day? Instead the company need to take the heater to the shop to do another TEST, it even written on the paper by their technician, Phil. I would be very happy if they can fix it or propose a solid solution, why would I waste my time and money to call another HVAC to do a diagnosis check again?! She said I should have used other company, cause this is the way that they work in Thermo Cool! So, it is my fault that I used Thermo Cool?! Maybe she is right, I should have done more research before booking. I should not trust a 35yrs old company all staffs have ethical standard, and care about their clients. I shouldn’t use Thermo Cool for the service! I don’t mind of paying if it is fair and they can fix the problem, I just want the heater to back on running. Conclusion: -If they cannot provide a diagnosis on the site, and need to take the unit back to the shop to run the test, they should have advised the client before booking. Not only they charged a high fee, they charge double for testes, and yet not guarantee it can be fixed! After they ran another test, they may say the entire unit is done, now you need to replace a new heater, who knows?! -What is the ethical standard of checking and diagnosis, they charged by hours and they charged 2 hrs in this case, versa the other HVAC company spent less than an hour and be able to gave a proper quotation of cost of labour, parts and time frame. Thermo Cool charge $423.75 (Friday nigh) versa the other HVAC charged $130 + HST (Saturday night). For people that like me, who have no knowledge of how HVAC works, technician could spend 3,4,5,6… hours to run a test, what is the standard?! Very disappointed in your service!

Excellent customer service from original request for help for new heat pump solution for our condo, through to installation and preventative maintenance visits. Have been very pleased with this company and all staff. Looking forward to a long term continued positive and valued relationship.

I recently had service performed on the furnace in my condo. The company sent someone out to fix the issue. The issue pertained to heat not coming out of the vents. This was in November so of course, heat was of utmost important. They came, fixed the issue and damaged a portion of the unit (non operational) while fixing it. Recently, I noticed that no air, hot or cold, was coming out of 2 specific vents. When I called them back, they said they would charge me (again) to send out a service call. In addition, they only warranty the service for 30 days. I find this to be extremely unfair given that air was previously coming out of the vents. To me, they should not be charging for the service call again. In fact, they were very rude over the phone and had no sympathy for the situation. Basically, a good majority of my place remains extremely cold as a result. Definitely expect to be charged for everything with these guys including picking up the phone.

I have used Thermo Cool Mechanical about 4-5 times to service the HVAC of both my rental unit and my residence. Their staff is responsive, on time and professional. My HVAC broke yesterday and they were quick to respond.

Only positive things to say about this company! The price was right, the technician they sent over (Alex) did an amazing job of fixing my problem!!! I live in a condo and my air conditioning unit was making dripping noises that would wake me up in the middle of the night. Alex was very knowledgable and was able to diagnose and fix the problem promptly and was very professional. Have been sleeping well ever since. I highly recommend this company and would use their services again in the future.
