Doug was patient and knowledgeable on all his products. The freestanding fireplace stove we finally chose is perfect and Devon did a great job on the install. No hesitation on recommending Doug and Devon for gas fireplace guidance and installation.

I can not say enough good things about my experience with The Woodworks! Doug Jr. not only fixed and refurbished my air tight's broken glass door in an hour, he painted it, fixed the seized hinge pins, put all new seals (piping) on it and polished the brass handle. I live on an island and my airtight is my main means of heating my place. I had an emergency when it broke and Doug saved my day! A heartfelt Thanks to Doug and the Woodworks! I will be buying my next airtight from him and suggest You do too! Their selection is huge and their knowledge is too. This is a family run business that you need to go check out. Go now.

We love our new wood stove! And Doug Jr. did a fantastic job with installation - it was quick, easy, and service was excellent. Looking forward enjoying a roaring fire on those cold winter nights!

Called to purchase a gas fireplace on the spot and was told abruptly they were closed. Asked about the next week, nope close! I told them my gas fireplace was broken downstairs and no heat in the basement. Sorry closed! I'm not pleased! You never said you were ill. Also it's none of my business if you are ill. You told me you wanted to spend time with family. I'm not begrudging you or anyone time with family. So don't make me feel like I'm a bad person please. This wasn't the first time I tried to do business with your establishment. I was in there before and stood in the store for 45 minutes with no acknowledgement from the person on the floor. So my husband and I just left. I belive in giving second chances. Sorry you were ill but glad you spent time with your family. And there's no need to be yelling at me Please and Thank you. Have a nice day.

After experiencing horrible customer service at a giant fireplace store in Barrie (think French military), we found this store online. I cannot speak to the one negative review, but can tell you that Doug is as straightforward and honest as you are going to get. I called and told him what we were looking for. Right on the phone, he informed me that he only had a couple of options available and didn't want us driving up from Barrie only to be disappointed. Told him we would come see him and we are glad we did. He patiently explained what would be best for the basement reno we were completing and ultimately, had a unit that we were able to walk out of the store with. The terrible service we received at the place in Barrie meant we found a far better local shop to deal with (we're from Wasaga). If anyone asks us where they should go for a fireplace/wood stove, we will not hesitate to mention Doug's store. I will definitely be going to see him when I need to replace my gas BBQ, as well. Note: The Woodworks does not take debit or credit. This is not a negative, at all - just preparing you so that you have your cheque book or some dough with you when you arrive. The sacrifice of not being able to zap your payment through is well worth it. Thanks for the great service, Doug.
