★ ★ ★ ★ ★ The only organization where a front line worker can pick through clothing donations and take two huge oversized bags of donated clothing, shoes etc home with her, take an 8 lb bag of turkey from the kitchen walkin cooler out the back door and still keep your job without any repercussions. Meanwhile the skimpy portion of turkey given to the residents made it possible for the staff to get her take.
Anytime a shelter staff is allowed to take clothing away from people who actually need it on multiple occasions and remain employed, screams how a change of management is so desperately needed here. Profits before people is the true salvation army.
Sad since the good work that they do is reported in the media however the treatment of clients, disgusting food and cutbacks across client services are how they can afford to provide 10 new expensive office chairs for their second floor and front line staff.
Yet taxpayers of Toronto continue to have their taxes sent to the salvation army to warehouse humans in more and more shelters each and every year.
