Wow! What a hidden gem. Pictures do not do the food justice. Burger - Homemade, juicy. Thick cut Bacon. Made to order. Fries - crispy, oil has great flavor not old. Perogies - insanely good for the perogie expert. Atmosphere - grandma's house nicknacks and all.

The Old Grouch is an icon in Drumheller. Fast food made slow... from scratch. From burger to bun to real potatoes. This is no drive through. If you want it now you will be disapointed. If youwant a down home experiance in a funky environment, sit down, order yourself a brew or check out the walls and wait for it....... fresh, delish, and served with love and a smile by mouse and prepared in the galley by Fran the Grouchs wife. The grouch lives on through the countless stories within these walls.

Expect to wait for your food. I'm sure the couple that runs the place are very nice and the food was pretty good (and basic) but we waited a long time for food. I didn't like the decor at all! It was messy and crowded with mismatched tables and chairs. I read the reviews and people seem to have found it quaint and cute but I found it uncomfortable. I also heard the microwave door slam many times. I had a cheese burger with fries. The price was good and the burger did taste homemade but it wasn't worth the wait. I would not come back here again.

This is a little tiny dive that prepares everything as it's ordered. Amazing food and very funny decorations on the walls. We had an awesome time and left with our belly full and laughing all the way home!! Go there!!

Definitely lives up to its name! Got there at 2pm after visiting the museum, Google says it was open, the sign facing the parking lot said it was open...however when we walked in the own abruptly told us they were closed and asked if we had seen the sign on the door...the sign that was written in faded felt tip pen on white paper stuck below eye level against a door with metal bars which also had a ton of other leaflets attached. I was also carrying my toddler, whom she saw. Luckily A&W was open and much more accommodating!

This was a great little spot for lunch! Amazing food and service. Staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. Home made borscht, perogies and cabbage rolls were tasty and the cinnamon bun was to die for. The food and service was great but definitely not for those who are in a rush!

Had a tasty home cooked meal. Family run and operated with a long history in Drumheller. A must to visit as long as you are not in a hurray.

First walked in and already felt right at home, it has a bunch of cool photos and memorabilia all around the place. Everything is home made so obviously there’s going to be a wait. The buns are freshly made on each burger. And the burgers taste fantastic. I would highly recommend coming to β€œThe Old Grouch” on any trip to or by Drumheller.
