About The Next Step Montessori Nursery School

The Next Step Nursery School Inc. is a Montessori learning center operated by Kathy Berke, B.Ed., PBC Ed., – Resource & Special Education, University of Manitoba. Kathy is also Montessori certified. The School is licensed by Manitoba Family Services (Child Daycare) to offer a program for children 2 to 6 years of age with a maximum of 20 children per class. The skills of Kathy and her team of trained caregivers, combined with the prepared environment of the ‘montessori’ classroom, provide a warm, caring and stimulating environment that enables each child to realize their full potential.
Annually during the first week of March we hold an Open House & Registration Evening for parents and children. We also encourage prospective parents/guardians to contact us to arrange a personal tour and see the difference that is Montessori learning.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ i have had at least one kid in this montessori pre school for the last 4 years and i have nothing bad to say about it! both of my kids have absolutely loved going to this school. the kids love the actual school environment and the teachers are amazing! i cant believe how much i have seen both of my kids grow and learn in those few short hours they have with them!

The children gain independence, confidence and respect for others. There is an excellent balance of structure and child directed learning, all while having a ton of fun! The teachers are patient, kind and loving and my children are always so happy to be there!
