R	Rochelle Whyne on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Food was hot, fresh and tasty. Jerk chicken comes with a lot of sauce and not dry as authentic Jamaican jerk chicken but the sauce was spicy and tasty enough. Would prefer if it were more dry or if the sauce came as a side and not directly poured on the chicken. The ackee and tofu was a great vegetarian option and was quite tasty. Overall good experience. Clean and comfy inside with a great view of the water.
E	Esfar Zuhayr on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This place is my regular spot. It’s an underrated spot but truly a diamond in the rough during the summer months. It’s at a prime location with an amazing view, friendly servers and good vibe overall. The food is tasty and very reasonable. It’s Afro-Caribbean cuisine. The African menu takes 45mins so still haven’t been able to try it. But my go to is the jerk chicken or the any of the rotis. I recommend the lamb roti.
S	Serena Powell on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Went in at around 2:30 this afternoon, the girl working was the least friendly server I have come across in a while zero customer service skills! We were seated, she brought over a pitcher of water and glasses that were fresh out of the dish washer, the pitcher was dirty and gross had who knows what caked on the lid and black around the inside of the lid as well, the cups......gag had lip prints on them from the last diners that used them as well as food or something on them, inside and outside the cup. Needless to say we decided to leave and our son confirmed it after using the washroom, he said it was disgusting and was actually worse than the washrooms at his high school and looking around while we were seated the floors were dirty and around the windows and table bases as well, there was literally 1 person at 1 table when we walked in. Definitely wouldn't trust food from this place after seeing the condition of the cups and water pitcher, or the cleanliness or lack of the rest of the place 100% cutting corners on cleaning so who knows where else they ate cutting corners with things behind a wall in the kitchen. ?
J	Julian on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pretty awful dining experience this time around. We gave a 5 star review last time so we are very disappointed with the service, timing and quality. We came for Caribbean food but it wasn’t available and only their brunch menu was. We went with the flow and ordered what was available. We waited 1.75 hours for our food to arrive. Dishes were undercooked, undercooked & burnt at the same time, and eggs came wrong (twice!). Pancakes (for a child) came 15 minutes after everyone else’s dishes. The cod fritters were raw (they still charged for them despite it being inedible), and we had to run out to extend our two hours of parking due to how long it took everything to come. I would not recommend this place, unfortunately - stick to Calabash, this place isn’t really worth the time and disappointment.
P	Petra Amoako on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I visited Loft Lounge a few days ago for the first time. My friend and I ordered the oxtail dinner and it was delicious and freshly hot. The customer service was great as well, all the waiters were super friendly. The atmosphere was quiet but a beautiful venue. You can see English Bay from the big window and you can feel the warmth from outside, it made me feel as if I was in the Caribbean. Great spot!

Although it takes a long time(40 minutes) considering the place is not busy. But my server is good and accommodating. Nice view of English Bay! Might come back again!
U	Ufuoma Muwhen on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Overjoyed to indulge in the gift that is oxtail, this was actually my first stop in Vancouver this trip and unfortunately it wasn’t the warmest welcome. Located right across from English Bay beach, this black-owned beautiful restaurant has a wonderful interior and atmosphere! Not only will your meal be accompanied by a gorgeous view, but the house DJ really sets the tone with some fire mixes. Although, I was a bit disappointed that there wasn’t a single Caribbean song played. I wanted to start with a Spicy Beef Patty with Coco Bread and a Pineapple Caribbean Soda.. However, they were sold out of both the beef patty and pineapple soda. I decided to go with the Chicken Patty and Ting (Grapefruit Soda) instead. I was really happy with the drink, but the the patty was just okay. For entrees I ordered the Oxtail Dinner with extra plantain on the side. The plantain was nice and ripe, but I was sadly, extremely disappointed with the oxtail. Truthfully, nothing about this dish was giving Jamaican. I couldn’t taste any spice, any green seasoning, or any browning! It was really giving beef stew. The coleslaw was pretty dry as well, but the rice and peas was decent. Also considering the restaurant wasn’t very busy, the service was pretty subpar. My experience here was actually rather shocking as according to the google rating and reviews, this place is the BOMB and UNDERRATED.. So maybe my expectations were too high, but boy was I let down. Honestly, Loft Lounge understood half of the assignment by committing to the atmosphere. The music, decor and view sells it self, but their food.. not so much. If you are craving an authentic Jamaican dinner, I probably wouldn’t recommend. BUT if you would like music and drinks by the ocean, this could be a spot you.
