★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Waste of Oxygen!!! I had some infrastructure put into my acreage to the tune of just under 10 grand. The contractor's work was signed off as compliant with some "small noted" deficiencies by the Inspections Group. Turns out after having serious issues with the infrastructure the system was found to be installed in gross violation of Alberta Code. Do you think I could get the Inspections Group to force the contractor back to reinstall to code? Not a hope. I was told and I quote, "they can make reccomendations but if the contractor tells you to go fly a kite you have to take them to small claims court and sue for fixes". Well what good are you and the permits you issue if you can't pick up on these violations, or enforce the permit they violate and I pay for??!!!!! Just another company getting fat off of the bureaucratic mess of developement in Alberta municipalities. As a side note, they can fine the living daylights out of private home owners over permit violations and level work stop orders as well. I never thought I would see the day that in Canada the average Joe would have less rights than and more legal responsibility than the business sector. ***shakes head***
