The Health Shoppe is a nice little store with a variety of items. The only thing I would say up front is that I am rating them a 3 because I have personally discovered food items for sale in the store that are past their expiry. The best before date is blatantly written on the top and time after time I have alerted them of this only to be met with the same seemingly fake surprised look on their face. It just seems too convenient to me and I feel as though they may be trying to push the product until someone mentions something. This concerns me because if I've noticed this three times now, who knows how many items I'm not buying that are also past their best before date. That said, as long as I pay attention to the expiry on each item I buy, the products are cool and that is what keeps me coming back. As one reviewer stated, they are highly overpriced though the location is convenient for me. Get your act together on the fresh factor and you have a happy customer here.

Snobby rude and unhelpful workers. Also overpriced. I now go to evergreen natural foods at 513 St Clair Ave W, Toronto, ON M6C 1A1 which has everything the health shop has and more, better prices and the workers are so friendly and kind always trying their hardest to give me a good expierence it seems to be a family business which gives it a better atmosphere. The shop is smaller than the health shoppe but it is full of everything you need and the workers are super helpful. It is definitely worth checking out evergreen natural foods.

Wonderful shop with some dried bulk and packaged food options, home and beauty products, and tinctures you can't find anywhere else. The shopkeepers are tentative and help to the best of their ability. The shop is orderly and clean. They may be able to make ordres if they don't have what youre looking for stock.

I had a terrible experience at this store a while back and posted it at Yelp but it got labelled as "not recommended" for some reason so I'm posting to google: I had a bad experience at the Yonge Health Shoppe. I paid for my purchase with a $20 bill and noticed that I only got change back for a 5. I said "I think I paid with a 20. The cashier looked at me and said "No, I'm pretty sure I it was a 5." Having just come from the bank machine I was positive I only had 20s in my wallet and so tried but failed to convince her. The cashier refused to give me the $15 I was owed explaining I would have to wait until the end of the day when they cashed out to determine whether or not I was telling the truth. I had no choice. I wrote down my name and number and left the store - after getting a refund for my purchase. No one bothered to call me - when I called them someone told me I would need to wait until the following week for someone to write a cheque (because that's when they write all their cheques!?). I was a regular customer but needless to say, I will not be going back.

I dropped by this store after having my hair done just up the street. I truly enjoy shopping here because of the selection of products. Everything is easy to find and I find that the prices are very good considering the location and there's something to suit every budget. The staff are kind and very knowledgeable. Overall I had a great experience.

This is one of the first health food stores in Toronto and still one of the best. I've been shopping here for over 20 years and have always been able to find what I've been looking for. They're also willing to make special orders if there's something specific you're looking for from a supplier that they don't stock (i.e., essential oils). The staff members are friendly and knowledgeable - they know the products and can give guidance/information. A great neighbourhood store that has stood the test of time in the Yonge & St. Clair area (which is infamous for businesses starting up and closing on a regular basis). Great for gift shopping too - lots of natural products from reputable lines. *Update Jan 2021* The store has moved across the street - still the best!

I’ve been shopping here for years and years and I have to say that this place is great. They have basically everything I’ve ever needed and the staff are so friendly helpful and very knowledgeable! Thanks Andrea and Beth and the rest of the staff for going above & beyond.

Great selections of foods (fridge/freezer/perishables, supplements, teas and bath/body products. They sell Weleda products here (I love the light nourishing cream)! Staff are friendly and will put you on waiting lists to notify you of products they’re restocking. Highly recommend
