Very pleased with the service and support I received at The Family Enhancement Centre. It was a great decision going their to discuss the crisis I was going through. Counselling helps a lot...just by talking you will be at ease, relaxed and peaceful...

The Mississauga office has convenient hours and parking which is accommodating for my busy schedule. TFEC counselors are very attentive and really easy to talk to. It's amazing to actually see and feel the positive changes that come from working with TFEC counsellors.

The Family Enhancement Center is a place where the well being of each and everyone of their clients comes first. Clients are suitably placed with professionally trained therapists all within a timely manner. No matter what the issue, religious or ethnic background you will always receive utmost care and attention. They provide wonderful services such as individual, Marriage, and Family Counselling and address many needs such as grief, Anxiety, Trauma Recovery, Couple Therapy and Depression management, for all ages. Their offices are easily accessible by car or bus which makes it very convenient for all clients.

If you are looking for counselling service in Mississauga or Brampton, The Family Enhancement Centre is the Best Choice. I was there for my kids play therapy sessions and I have really seen a big positive change in him from counselling. The team is very professional and everything is explained to you (what to expect, duration, cost) during initial consultation.

From initial consultation on phone to first meeting with my therapist and subsequent counselling sessions everything was very smooth. I was some having anger and anxiety issues and because of this I was going through a difficult period in both my personal and professional life. The therapy helped a lot in identifying the triggers that were causing my problem and developing ways to effectively deal with them. Maureen is a great counsellor with experience in working with people from different cultures and backgrounds.Only thing which I didn't liked about this place was the ambiance. This facility is located inside the medical building and hence looks more like a doctor's office. There Brampton facility is nice and more suitable for counselling.

DO NOT BE DUPED BY THE FAMILY ENHANCEMENT CENTRE! The Family Enhancement Centre claims to provide support to families to "improve and learn new strategies for dealing with difficult times." However, my personal experience was exactly the opposite. Firstly, the billing practices are extremely questionable. TFEC charged my credit card multiple times without consent, despite several weeks of follow up on my end about the schedule of visits for my daughter (who lives with her mother). Last time I checked, billing someone's credit card for services they are not even aware of is criminal. Every time I called to inquire about the status of my family's sessions, Alisa (Intake & Client Relations Coordinator) either responded with silence, or provided incomplete information. At one point, she even claimed that she couldn't remember if she had sent an email or not. I didn't receive receipts for the sessions with my daughter until her sixth session had taken place. The kicker was when I received a threatening call today, where Dawn threatened to go to the police to complain about non-payment of the amount they feel is owed to TFEC. My credit card company has already refunded the amount because the billing was fraudulent, but good luck with that, TFEC. Secondly, the counselor, John Nilsson, provided one set of notes to me and another to my daughter's mother - this is exactly the kind of thing that can complicate communications in a family that needs interpersonal communications support (which is why we reached out to TFEC in the first place). As well, I set up the sessions for my daughter and I to attend together. However, as soon as I provided my credit card details for my first solo session with John, TFEC quickly cut me out of the sessions but continued to bill my credit card for the sessions with my daughter (which I wasn't even aware of). Truly unprofessional service overall. I would honestly urge families looking for support to consider other options. TFEC is just not a professional provider that can cater to families that already need a little extra support.
