Our Winnipeg Retail Store is location on Treaty 1, the traditional territory of the Anishinaabeg, Cree, Oji-Cree, Dakota, and Dene Peoples, and on the homeland of the Métis Nation.
We acknowledge and respect the history, land and the people of these areas. We believe it is a small step toward reconciliation and an important part of cultivating relationships with our local Indigenous communities.
Hi! My name is Lindsey and I am a mama to my sweet boys Tallet & Mays, my brave girl Esti Rose and wife to Eric. We live out in the country on a turkey breeder farm, and there is no where else I would rather be. We have dogs, cats, horses and goats on our little farm.
The Fabric Snob started as a pursuit for the perfect fabric for cloth diapers for my first son. Frustrated with the lack of availability in Canada, I decided to open our online store in February 2014 in our humble basement.
In May 2016 we opened our first retail location in Riverton, MB which is now our online warehouse. We opened a retail location in Winnipeg in June 2021 at 100-205 Fort Whyte Way in Oak Bluff.
I am blown away with how this little basement business has grown, and am excited for what we have in store.

The staff is very helpful, with one employee helping me find thread colours when my baby was fussing. Best selection of quality knits in the province!
