We were rushed out after a mediocre, overpriced meal. I made a reservation for 6:30, and before we'd even finished our entrees, the server came out with a dessert menu and said the kitchen was closing. We did order dessert and were shortly after kicked out because it was past closing time (at 8pm!) I am pregnant and drank 4 glasses of water and the bathrooms were locked when we finished our meal. The food was fine but not worthy of the price. The coconut shrimp was flavorless, the steaks were overcooked and too salty, and the vegetables tasted like a frozen medley.

Stopped in mid afternoon after a chilly walk for a hot beverage and dessert. We were asked if we had a reservation, to which we replied no. No reservation??? the server said...I looked into the restaurant to see it was empty save one table in the corner with a couple of people at it. She managed to find us a seat. I ordered Earl Grey tea & dessert. When the tea came, it was Cream of Earl Grey, which is much different than the plain Earl Grey as it has flowers and vanilla added to it which gives it a very perfume-like taste and smell. I asked if they had any regular Earl Grey, to which our server replied this is what they serve for Earl Grey and in 20 years no one has ever complained. I left the tea sitting on the table as no other option was offered. She wasn't finished making her point however, and a few minutes later brought the tin of tea to the table to show me the tea, including the blue flowers in it. Which was my point, but that seemed irrelevant. She turned the tin when I tried to look at the label on the front, but it didn't matter as I already knew what it said. A small issue in the big picture, but it cost them two customers as we won't be returning. It easily could have been dealt with in a much better way, and there are a number of good St. Albert restaurants with better service.

The food was delicious, friendly waiter! The Gombo is to die for. The food was also fast and fresh. The only thing I’d say that needs improvement is their sliced bread that came with the smoked salmon appetizer ( it didn’t taste fresh). But overall nice ambiance and wonderful service! I’ll visit again!

Been going here for many years. Never been disappointed or anything less than delighted! The Cajun House is extremely consistent and always over and above your expectations! I can't even recommend 1 thing over any others because everything I've ever tasted is absolutely delicious! However I have only experienced 1 dessert here. I do get the Bread pudding almost every time I visit & it never disappoints. I also love that they offer petite portions(perfect for keeping room for dessert!) Definitely recommend The Cajun House!

The staff here were super accommodating to our needs. They let us pay when our food arrived so we could leave at our leisure, as we were running a little late to a theatre showing. The server was super friendly and cheerful. Very respectable. They checked in on us just enough. Give those servers a wage boost! Food wise, I was expecting a really strong spice component. It was a little mild? But I think that's good for a majority of people XD. I'm just a more spicey person lol. The dishes we seasoned will just not aggressively as you normally imagine cajun food. Scallops were cooked super crispy! Most of the seafood component was well cooked and not rubbery at all. So good on the chefs! I also had frogs legs for the first time! It was very mild not what I was expecting meat wise.

First time to the Cajun house. Totally empty at the time we came, mid afternoon. I ordered the combo plate which had Louisiana Jambalaya, shrimp Creole, beans and sausage. Everything was was excellent except the sauce that the shrimp was in. I've never had Creole sauce before, smell like yummy tomatoes but tastes nasty. The shrimp that was in the sauce were very excellent however. Lost a star for the sauce.

My first visit to this restaurant. Mid week lunch break. I ordered the Chicken Po-Boy - with spinach peppered pecan salad. The sandwich was delicious, and the salad also was very tasty. The service was excellent, very friendly server and prompt service. A wise choice to share a dessert, we chose Banana Indulgence…generous serving, a large portion with enough sweetness for 2 people. Thanks Cajun House! See you next time I’m in St. Albert!
