โ โ โ โ โ Incredibly friendly and helpful stuff ! They must be the best in the town not just in UBC. They gave good insights about your bike's problem. Even if they do not have the parts they guide how to find them etc.
I loved their business model, volunteering model etc.

โ โ โ โ โ I love the Bike Kitchen. They make everyone feel welcome regardless of how much they know about bikes. I just got a full tune up and it was great. I trust they will not try to up-sell me on anything. I love that they have queer/women/trans bike nights, which I attended years ago. Thanks to all the staff there.

โ โ โ โ โ Been coming here since I was a kid in high school who didn't know anything about bikes in general and when they had their old location before the portable trailer. It's definitely changed over the years but always kept it's grassroots community bike shop appeal.
No matter what you ride they always treat you the same and free from judgement. Whether as a beginner rider, daily commuter, or enthusiast that puts just as much mileage on their bike as they do their car; I've evolved through all the stages of ownership over the years and have been treated as a valued patron just the same as I was since day one.

โ โ โ โ โ The bike kitchen is my go to bike shop whenever I have any bike issues. Parts are reasonable and labour are much less expensive than other bike shops in the city.
In my last visit, my chain was broken so the staff repaired it for $15. A shop downtown quoted me $45. The Bike Kitchen staff also recommended me to replace the cassette, but they don't have the parts. However, they were willing to work on my own sourced parts.
Good experience everytime.
Before COVID, you could even fix your own bike with their tools for a low hourly price. Hopefully that'll come back one day.

โ โ โ โ โ The bike kitchen has helped me out so much. My bike is my main mode of transportation and their DIY nights are wonderful. The staff are very helpful, friendly, and willing to troubleshoot based on your budget. I really appreciate their inventory of used parts as I can't always afford the shiny new things. This place is a fixture of UBC and should be preserved!

โ โ โ โ โ This place is great. I have been getting help for my bikes from this place since 2017. But what I would advice to you is to always DOUBLE CHECK THE RECEIPT TO MAKE SURE EVERYTHING IS DONE and you are not overcharged as sometimes they charge you for a service but actually it is not done. In early 2021, this happens to me for the first time; a service fee was charged for me twice on the receipt and I noticed it before I pay for it. Also this week, I asked for an entire bike check up and it was recommended to replace the rear tire, break parts, and etc and there was a charge for a tire replacement service fee and a new tire but the tire was not replaced this time. Other than that I think this is a great place to take care of your bike. Just make sure you are not overcharged!
