Good: food, atmosphere, staff. Bad: the bar is extremely uncomfortable. Knees pushed against the bars when trying to lean over to eat or drink. So basically.... Its great. But don't sit at the bar.

I hate to leave two star review because the food was actually fine (not great, but definitely fine), but the last time I was there with my date, the tables were just WAY too close together. WAY too close. And I complained about this to the staff, but only god dismissive replies. Yes, it's the Danforth and real estate is expensive, but space between tables is paramount. I don't go to places with "communal tables" for this reason. Also, reading some of the 1-star reviews here, the person who write the replies should probably take under the consideration the old maxim "the customer is always right". Having "Toronto Attitude" is one thing, but being rude is completely another.

This pub doesn’t look like anything special from the outside, but never judge a book by it’s cover. The staff are friendly, service is efficient and the food was great. The fish and chips were the best fish and chips I’ve found in Toronto. The tartar sauce was a tad spicy and flavourful. The batter was not over done and the oil was clearly fresh. The burger was also fantastic, and a definite recommendation!

Today was a great day. Today was a great day not only because it was my husband’s 48th birthday and the sun was shining, but because of Obadiah from The Auld Spot’s sincere sense of customer service. Due to a technical issue with their online booking system, a scheduling snafu almost ruined our celebration. Obadiah, the chef, would not let this happen. He went above and beyond to make sure we were welcomed and served with the utmost of care even though he was the only staff member on hand when we arrived. The food was wonderful, and the oysters fresh. It was truly an occasion made special by the efforts of this kind gentleman.

The Auld Spot's has the best staff ever ! Very warm and helpful ! Jesse and Jack were great. I would improve on the wine selection, the 2 white ones by the glass are both fruity. And a larger menu would be nice, but everything is delicious! But I recommend the place for the staff and the nice athmosphere and deco !

Nice atmosphere, good service, good vibe, but $11/$12 pints of beer is just crazy. I know we've all been hit hard by the pandemic and stuff and I love to support local, but it's just hard to justify coming here for drinks when you can get the same beer at many places nearby for like $3 cheaper. You can also get a $9 house lager pint but still, that's too much.

I've been coming to the Auld Spot for years. Their food is excellent and I have not once had a bad experience with service. Enjoying their new outdoor seating. The food is a little bit pricy but very good. They have lots of specials throughout the week so we like to plan our trips around those. The buck a shuck oyster night on Tuesdays is our favourite. We love being able to support our favourite local businesses during the pandemic!

Ok, hold up, this pub has legit good food. Grading on a curve or not, we really enjoyed our meal. - Ploughman: A shareable dish with 3 types of meat (that day it was duck prosciutto, sausage and ham), 2 types of cheese (blue and cheddar), veggie scotch egg, jams (prune), house pickles, and grilled bread. So yeah, hearty. Standouts were the veggie scotch egg (interesting taste), sausage (properly smoky), and the prune jam (really fresh). Not a fan of the duck prosciutto, though kudos for trying to elevste the dish. - Salmon Eggs Benny: Generous serving of salmon (which was fresh enough), benny done well (chewy but not overly so), spinach a bit limp, good cut on the fries. We added a side aioli to dip the fries in. - Pecan Pie with Toffee Icecream: Homemade icecream was not overly sweet, so it complemented the pie well. Super generous amount of pecan. The star to me was the crust, which they infused heavily with cinnamon. Food was a bit pricey, but isn't everything these days? Obediah (who's the chef but also served us) has a great spirit to him. The pub itself is ultra British looking and has a laid back vibe. Will be back to try their hot honey wings and buck-a-shuck on Tuesdays!
