This has been the best music shop I have been to in Canada. Honest, low pressure experience with a very good selection of guitars. A must for those looking for an acoustic guitar.

Reviews looked great so I decided to stop by hoping to buy a new guitar for my Wife's birthday. I'm also a songwriter so I was looking to get something real nice that we could both use. Store looks great, lot's of well displayed guitars to choose from. The employee was assisting someone else on and off. I waited for a proper greeting but he seemed like he'd rather finish with his customer, so I asked if I could try some of the guitars in the mean time. They were all setup real nice and in tune. While he was giving the customer time to play, I thought I'd ask a question or two. He answered reluctantly and seemed really annoyed like I was bothering him. So I took the hint and kept waiting/playing. Customer left, he spent the next 2-3mins packing up guitars and cleaning up. I kept looking and gave him an opportunity to approach me and ask if I needed any help, but he just went to his desk and started doing computer work. I put on my jacket and kept looking in silence. Another minute passed, so I just got fed up and left. The store was going to close in about 15mins so I guess he wanted to close the store more than he wanted to land an easy sale. As he let me out the front door he asked if I had any questions, but by then it was too late so I just said nope. I'm sure this is a great place, maybe I just caught him on a bad day, but I've been in sales and customer service my entire life. It takes literally two seconds to smile or say "hi I'll be right with you." Too bad. I'm new to Hamilton and was hoping for a good experience. Guess I'll have to check out some other spots in town.

I went for an acoustic guitar service, Mark attended me and did a great job restringing my guitar and fixed several more things that would have cost me much money, but he fixed in the price of restringing the guitar. Gave me discount on accessories as well. Excellent service . Would recommend to all.

I recently brought my 23 year old Takamine guitar in to Mark for a set up. The guitar has never played better. The luthier skillfully adjusted the neck relief and managed to lower the action at the nut so that the guitar now plays beautifully. The service was impeccable and prompt and I had my guitar back in less than a day. Furthermore, the shop itself is inviting and carries many unique instruments. I encourage anyone who has a guitar that is special to them to take it to the acoustic room for some sprucing up and you will undoubtedly be as impressed as I am. I intend to make the trip down the mountain to the Acoustic Room in the historic Durand neighbourhood on James Street South often. Thanks Mark...This old guitar has been reborn!!!!
