Came here for airbnb. Staff was very polite, slept in one of the white tipis. I recommend to bring a sleeping bag, they only provide a air mattress to sleep on. Washroom is shared among the rest of the other people. Drive from South Baymouth took around 15mins- Very dark at night as there are no street lights, recommend to search in advance or arrive earlier.

This a place you have to stay at! It is not about how clean the tipis were ( they were immaculate), or the fact that there was an abundance of fresh food and fruit in the kitchen ( there was no shortage of fresh food), or that Harvey built a bonfire at night so that we could roast marshmallows under the stars, or that our hosts lent us their telescope for a more in depth stargazing of the myriad of stars shining in the sky. The X factor was the warmth of our hosts, Diane and Harvey. They gave us an insight into life on the island where community, sharing and healing are the foundations. To give you an example, on our second day, when we explored the Cup and Saucer Trail, our car key must have slipped out of my husband’s pocket, while hiking. (lesson learned – always bring a spare). We did not have our spare key with us. Given that it was a long weekend, the best option was for my sister and brother-in-law to bring our spare key from Mississauga to MS Chi-Cheemaun ferry in Tobermory, give it to the captain of the ferry, and have us pick it up when the ferry arrived in South Baymouth. Diane and Harvey picked us up from the Cup and Saucer Trail without hesitation. Harvey also told Ron, my husband, what time they would leave to get the spare at the Ferry station in South Baymouth without even being asked. Until now Ron is still trying to figure out how Harvey could hear the sound of the arriving ferry 3 minutes before he could. Diane and Harvey are amazing people with a multitude of stories and facts about the island. Their warmth and hospitality stands out. And added bonus was their five year old grand daughter Victoria who organized our kids activities immediately upon our arrival?. She is the only 5 year old who actually enjoys cleaning up her toys when she is finished playing. We would not hesitate to recommend Tehkummah Tipis.

The first impression of the area itself was a nice looking spot where you can watch the stars really good, but if you have a more detailed look it was just overpriced and everything else then nice and clean. We booked this accommodation because it offered prepared breakfast and supper. But what we got was some food they bought for us to prepare it ourself which might not be enough for the time we wanted to stay there. And some of the food that was there was either expired or already open. So just not eatable. What we also found in the kitchen was a already used moldy pan on the stove and the sink full of dishes that have to be cleaned like a cup with still some coffee in it. So we decided to clean these things but the sponge smelled disgusting and looked like it was in use for quite some time. But we found a new one and cleaned these dirty things even it was just not in our responsibility to do so. The table clothes was also full of spilled food and not washed for some time. In the garbage were also things of the people before. In the bathroom was no light just a movement sensor in all other rooms was light but why not in the bathroom. The bathroom and especially the shower itself looked like not cleanded for days and we didn't wanted to take a shower there. The bed in the wooden tipi smelled looked clean but it smelled like someone slept in it before. Because of all these points we decided to leave after the first night because we felt that uncomfortable. After we got aware of all these things we had another look to the website and recognized that the fotos have to be not the newest.

Extremely friendly and hospitable host. Facilities were clean. Breakfast and Dinner was included. Access to kitchen, which is a nice bonus. Well-priced. Was very cool to stay in the tipi. There is a very nice outdoor patio and it is conveniently located - near the ferry. Would definitely stay here again when I come back, which I will! I loved my stay at Manitoulin island!

Overpriced and under-delivered. we stayed here for a bit of luxury after a week of camping. Diane and Harvey were lovely, the property was beautiful, and it was a very nice β€œglamping” spot. Unfortunately, the meal options for the make-it-yourself dinner and breakfast were quite limited, and most of the food in the fridge had expired, and most of the veggies that were in the fridge were mouldy, or rotten. We had to eat our own veggies from our cooler to have vegetables with our dinner. There were 2 muffins that looked ok for breakfast, but when I bit into one, I discovered it was also mouldy. There wasn’t any dairy, or powdered creamer for coffee. When we raised these concerns to the owners and asked if we could adjust the price, due to limited food supply, they blocked us in with their car until we paid them. If you stay here, be very clear with the owners that they need to buy groceries for you to have fresh food, rather than over-paying for food that is not suitable for consumption.

Even 1 of 5 is too much... expired food was offered and there is no breakfast or dinner. It is totally over-priced for an accommodation that is this dirty and only with self-service breakfast and dinner with expired food ( for the pictures: we were there on the 6th and 7th of September). It is really dirty and we even left this place one day earlier because we felt so uncomfortable! It is really not recommended! The pictures from other guests are not the actual status! For example there was no fruits available (only expired in the fridge). We tried to talk to the hosts to reduce the price but they were not cooperative.
