We provide 100% plant-based, vegan Ethiopian Cuisine with gluten-free options. Being born in Ethiopia and raised in Canada, in our households we literally grew up eating our traditional Ethiopian dishes and it just became a natural flow to remix both worlds. East meets West.
About Teff N' Greens
Teff N’ Greens (Ethiopian Cuisine), Calgary’s first Ethiopian Vegan food destination. Teff N’ Greens is a new startup transitioning from seasonal Farmers’ Markets to our first stand alone store front. My wife (the main chef) and I (the hired grunt) started this crazy adventure in June of 2018, but what really set us on this path was something beyond our control. We had to move from Fort McMurray, not because of the fire (we were one of the lucky ones), but in 2017 we had moved due to a family emergency. This meant having to leave our jobs and our home until we got through this. Didn’t find much luck in finding local work and commuting wasn’t ideal, but still no luck there either. Having a toddler and a new born, this led us to get creative as we bounced ideas back and forth until one day my wife came up with this idea and I was like, hell yaa let’s do it!!!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Real tasty! And healthy. I ordered take-away on the phone and placed my order with the owner who was extremely friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and filling. A real gem of a find for vegans! Highly recommended!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Was visiting my partner a few days ago and we wandered into the Avenida Food Hall for lunch and to explore. A friend of mine recommended I try Eritrean food (lots of similarities to Ethiopian food) so I decided to give Teff' n Greens a go! The owner was one of the friendliest people I've ever met and had a true passion for what he was doing. I ordered the veggie platter, a dish meant for 2, and polished it off myself. Absolutely delicious cooking, and it's great to see that everything is plant based and that their plates and utensils are compostable. I highly recommend giving it a go, anything with the yellow lentils would be divine, and I will definitely come back again.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Great experience here today. I usually dont post reviews but i had the bowl with rice and it was filled with amazing flavors. The spicy potatoes and the spicy lentils were my favorites. Lots of flavour with a kick. Was very filling and the service was excellent. Definitely will include in my rotation when I eat out. Also heard they are stating skip the dishes soon so i can get my fix even when its cold out. They usually close at 8pm so make sure you order before the then! You can tell the owners really care just by looking at all the responses to reviews.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Delicious Ethiopian food in the Avendia Food Hall. The Injera bread was so good to eat with all the lentils and greens. It was nice that they had options for spicy and non-spicy ( I prefer spicy). Owners were amazing and explained the food in detail. I could tell a lot of love went into my meal which was more than enough food and filled me up completely. Its nice to have variety of LOCAL vendors. Highly recommend.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Ordered their largest platter, it was a delicious mix of different flavours and textures. The bread is amazing and the spicy injera salad that topped off the platter had a nice kick. I’m not a vegan but felt very fulfilled by the meal and would come back again!

Solid value as well, our platter was super filling and didn’t break the bank. The owners/staff were super friendly and enthusiastic - recommended on all levels!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Absolutely amazingly tasty and fresh Ethiopian food. As a bonus, all the food here is also vegan, and gluten free! Omnivores, you need not worry - Teff n Green's menu packs a flavour punch that will not disappoint. Super friendly owners, and lots of options to choose from regardless of how big your appetite is! Highly recommend the spicy injera salad too, it's got a nice heat and great flavour.
