★ ★ ★ ★ ★ wtdyjimjam: I don't know who you spoke to, unless it was the janitor. Every body on the order desk has a lot of experience in the transmission industry and would know exactly what you need for you 80s TH400. The typical questions you would have been asked are: 3 or 6 mounting pads and are they metric or standard thread, do you want a stock, HD or performance converter, and they all know that the Allison 1000 series of converter wont work. However, the 540 series of Allison converter will work.
The company has been around for over 45 years and would not have lasted that long if they provided the kind of service you say you received.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I originally approached tcs for 4l80e rebuild parts and was greeted by Brent, a technical salesperson who had a wealth of knowledge. Throughout my 4l80e rebuild experience I used a TCS kit which exceeded my expectations. Any time I had a question Brent was able to help me. At torque converter time I dealt with Paul. Paul steered me in the right direction and provided me with a converter which is perfect for my difficult to spec turbo application. All in all a great team and fabulous to deal with. Thanks again!
