Tattered Rose - Edmonton
Tattered Rose was established in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1999.....a spinoff of our romantic western store called "Way Out West".
We wanted to separate the romantic feminine style from the unisex western look, both which we carried in Way Out West....to present our Tattered Rose customers with a way of dressing that was feminine, romantic and beautiful...like the couture and designer designs you would only see in magazines, movies or museums. movies.
Our name evokes ruined finery....something that was once grand and elaborate but after years of being lovingly worn, it is charmingly imperfect and therefore much more special.
While much of our clothing, jewellery, accessories and home decor is vintage inspired, there is also an urban romantic vibe.... ideas from the past worn in a modern way.
We carry a carefully curated collection of designer lines such as Magnolia Pearl, Cut Loose, Grizas and even our own line designed under the name of "Carol Simon". Everything is chosen to suit our own aesthetic and hopefully yours too.

Two hours later after receiving excellent help from the owner, we left the store with a new mini wardrobe for my wife. hey guys there are big chairs for us! it's a good thing we don't live here but i know she'll be back whenever she gets the chance.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ A beautifully decorated store with a huge selection of clothing that is a mashup between steampunk and gypsy. Lots of loose fitting styles with layers of lace, linen, and some leather accessories. The sale items were within my price range, but the average cost of a single item seemed to be around the $120 mark. Saw a crushed velvet jacket in excess of $600. The front counter is full of dangling jewelry to match the clothing. The store has posted signs saying you can't take pictures which is pretty short sighted for any retailer that wants to get any kind of exposure on social media. Tucked away in the ground floor of a residential apartment a couple blocks off any main thoroughfare is a good hiding spot. Not at all what I expected (that's a good thing) but overpriced (in my opinion).

The store is feminine, romantic, vintage, classy, 50% urban, 50% Victorian, and is filled of little delightful details that are extremely pretty. The price is reasonable. (Not over priced.) Tattered Rose is my shopping haven and Edmonton's rare gem.
