Tammy is very responsive, very skilled and supportive. She is adept in working with difficult family situations and is flexible and fair. Her billing is fair and she is very knowledgeable about family law and is good at negotiation. Tammy is sensitive to the client while also very honest. I never ever felt that I was being pushed down a course of action and got sound advice. She is trained in collaborative family law and is an excellent advocate.

During the course of being Represented by Erika Chan I had multiple concerns regarding in adequate Representation. My son has been withheld by his father 3 separate times. Two of those times the Judge recommended that Access be restored. The other Party refuses. She would NOT File Motions for Enforceable Access Schedules. The other Party failed to update the Court with Material Changes. She would not address this either. The Child made accusations of abuse. I called Child Protection. She accused me of trying to SELF HELP my way to Custody. I had to fight with her to Serve my side of the situation. The child has actually Self Harmed. Been exposed to Adult Conflict so badly it is affecting his Mental Health. I have No open Child Protection Cases. Yet the other Party does. Again. No Enforcement Orders. She eventually asked for an OCL Lawyer. I was relieved until I read the Endorsement Order. It said the wrong Reserve!! I asked for an Amendment of this Order so the OCL Lawyer could complete their Roles which includes Consultation with the Federal Community of the Child. As the Child is not Registered yet the Order, under Federal Policy of the Reserves, would have to say the Child is Eligible for Indian Status Registration under “appropriate Reserve”. Because the Order wrongly says I’m registered at a Reserve I’m not it would prevent the OCL Lawyer from completing their Consultation Process. As their Order is sending them to the wrong reserve. Tribal Affiliation is actually pretty important. Orders from Judges need to have correct Terminology. Correct Band Affiliation. I could write the correct reserve all I want. The OCL Lawyer NEEDS the correct reserve to complete their Role from the COURTS. HUGE mistake. Instead of educating herself she threatened to quit her job. So I Filed Complaints. Instead of working with me she Filed to be removed as my Solicitor. My child is self harming. My child hasn’t seen his mother or his sister in months. My child’s Lawyer can’t Consult with his Reserve with no amendment made to their Intake Orders. HORRIBLE Representation. I could go on and on with issues I had with Erika's Representation. If you are Indigenous DO NOT HIRE ERIKA CHAN. She has ZERO Knowledge of Federal Policy relating to Indigenous Children. Complaints with the Law Society are being Filed. Hopefully my son is okay. I have no way of knowing and now have to Self Represent.
