Alison Dennis- remember this name as she is the lawyer you want! And, yes, she is worth every penny! After a grueling, 2.5 years expensive experience with other lawyer on the same issue, in only 1 year (during COVID lockdowns), with Alison, I was able to finally put my case to rest. Last year, after my disappointment that my case was not going anywhere and firing my old lawyer, I finally came across Baker & Baker’s office and retained Alison. I needed someone who understands my case and my position. It was a complicated case that included an evaluation of a private business and all the intricacies that come with that. Alison was able to agree with me right away and told me to stop worrying- she was there to help. I followed her advice as we needed to consult various experts and re-evaluate the practice. It seemed expensive and long at the beginning, but that was the right approach. Alison was able to analyse and understand both, the personal and business financial information and find many irregularities and errors. Her findings were crucial for me winning the case. I knew that things were wrong and needed her help to prove it. Not only did she untangled the mess that the other lawyer did, she solved my problem relatively quickly and was able to present my case to the judge successfully. I wish I had met Alison earlier as it would have saved me so much time, money, and grief! I actually paid out the other party only ~1/3 of the amount that my old lawyer advised me to offer….and so much less than what the other party wanted to receive. I obtained Joseph Makari for my long ongoing separation. My case went dormant for a few years and was brought back to court over long outstanding support arrears and to correct future child support payments. It was a 16 year old case that never resolved on issues of support for my two sons. There was a lot to dig up and recover. Mr. Makari’s clerk Karen was very warm, compassionate, and easy to speak to on sensitive subjects about my matter, and the BAKER & BAKER staff were always very friendly and accommodating. I felt like Joseph really heard me. He was very thorough, well prepared and strong in court. He handled my very messy case with grace and integrity and brought up every point in court eloquently, and stated facts without ‘mud slay’. The Judge also appreciated and complimented Joseph’s representation a few times. Joseph also was sensitive to costs and only contacted me when needed so as to not run up my legal fees - I see that there are some bad right ups here where I can only assume may be because Mr. Makari knows family law and will advise and tell you exactly where your case stands, whether in your favour or not. He does not ‘sugar coat’ or ‘fluff’ his clients, which I greatly appreciated. Separation is very painful and emotional; people may not like to hear the actual results of their case if it is not in their favour, but a good lawyer will inform you and advise you truthfully, even if you don’t like the outcome. I also have a tendency to be sort of a ‘marshmallow’ and fold in conflict. I felt Jospeh picked up on that and gave me a nudge where needed to feel confident when pushing back, and when I did cave he defended me without hesitation. He handled my case with care and he really understood my case. I am very happy with how my case turned out. We were able to settle without trial but if we had to go to trial I would have felt every confident with Joseph representing me. Great law firm, staff is very friendly and professional. I dealt with both Daniela and Andrea during my separation/divorce process. They were both very knowledgable professionals and empathetic towards my situation, they explain everything thoroughly and ensured I had a proper understanding of the process while looking after my best interest. I recently did a cohabitation agreement through Baker and Baker. The meeting with Andrew was pleasant he is a very well spoken individual.i was quoted a price to do the cohabitation agreement that I agreed with so I decided to proceed. I realized after that time is very important, no matter if you or your party is delayed Baker and Baker will keep charging you on the 1st and the 15th of the month no matter the quote. My gf has also gotten a lawyer for her half and her lawyer was on point with daily updates and confirmation on the emails that had been sent to Baker and Baker no charge price included. Baker and Baker did not reply to lawyer right away usual the day after or 2 days after. The print out of the cohabitation agreement was not clear as in the ink ran out!?!!! My gf and I both have online copies of the cohabitation agreement, oddly enough the barley legible contract was scanned back to the computer to send to her lawyer and my self as copies! Does that sound professional? Why was I not given the original clear paper contact? Clear is a big word here! Last but not least you have to give them a down payment and if you have money left over, they will not give it back to you! They will tell you how much you have left but will not send the cheque....not professional and somewhat feels illegal as I did not donate the left over money. Unfortunately I did not make the right decision to go with this law firm. Please avoid this place it will not do a good job for you.

I have nothing but positive things to say about Baker & Baker. From the initial process, to setting up a consultation with my lawyer Andrew Sudano it was all very informative and encouraging. Every time I spoke to the receptionist or communicated via email everything was fast and efficient. I can’t say enough positive things about my lawyer Andrew Sudano, I wasn’t sure what to expect going into this process but he was so honest, straight to the point and very respectful of my time. He ended up achieving my goal for retaining him and explained everything along the way. My only regret was not retaining him for my initial conflicts. Thank you Andrew, I will be grateful.

I hired Andrew on the recommendation of a friend and could not be more pleased with the outcome.
