Decent budget motel. Clean, has an inner court with pool. Didn't see any air conditioning in room. Directly on route to ferry. Near all amenities and just up the hill from lower Gibsons.

The hotel has a great location and the rooms and facilities were exactly what was described but we had a few hold backs when staying there for the weekend. Unfortunately, our group of friends rented 5 rooms and we were treated most of the time as they wanted us out of there. We have done nothing but enjoy the facilities we paid for - we had a breakfast in an area nearby the pool using one of the tables available for such - my friend even informed the hotel beforehand that we planned the breakfast. We waited there patiently until the pool was open to enjoy it only to discover that it was closed for the day by the rude and maskless owner at the reception. They decided to clean the pool on a Saturday morning, and the process took the whole day to be completed. We felt a bit bothered by the idea that the main reason we booked the hotel wasn't available. The pool opened up after we left the hotel on Saturday, so we only used a little bit at night and on Sunday morning before checking out. We honestly have no issue using masks but since restrictions were lifted by the provincial government and being a fully vaccinated group, we only use masks when requested and there were no signs for masks anywhere. The employees themselves didn't use masks most of the time... so I don't see why there was an issue with us being outside by the pool with no masks on. Being a big group I know we can be noisy and I totally understand the one complaint we had about being loud - that we took it very seriously and toned down immediately, even though it was 12pm on a Saturday. It's been said that others didn't use the pool because of us, but honestly this is pretty unfair as we followed all the rules and did nothing but use the facilities included in our hotel for the weekend. Not everyone wants to sit quietly on the corner with a book, I believe it's not a crime to actually swim in a body of water designed for that. To finish up, we had a great time at the island and the hotel provided what was expected beside the pool issue and the poor treatment. We only wish the owner and family would treat us nicely, there was no favor being done. We paid for the rooms and we just wanted the service (that included dealing with hotel staff) to be delivered in a nice way. If we had been communicated politely about the issues, and had the chance to discuss them I am sure the experience would have been better for both sides.

The owners should decide if their business is their priority, I mean there is a family living there and I felt they were doing a favor by accommodating me, my family and friends. There was a lady that was super rude by ordering me to remove my stuff from an edge close to the plants, I didn’t mind taking my stuff but she could have said please and thank you. We booked the place mostly because of the pool but it was closed as they started cleaning it at 10:00 am on Saturday. Why not cleaning a night before? They also said we should be wearing masks when circulating in tHe corridors and common areas. Considering it was an outdoor area we didn’t wear it, and we didn’t do anything wrong because masks aren’t mandatory anymore at this point. The staff should be wearing it not us, but I saw the staff circulating without masks. I wasn’t expecting a royalty service but at least being treated with respect and kindness would be appreciated! The place has a great potential if the owners start thinking they have clients not house guests. After all the restrictions they should be doing everything to gain their customer’s loyalty.

The place was nice and I wish the experience was good as well but we went to celebrate a friend's birthday and we were all treated very poorly all over the weekend. For starters, if you desire everyone to wear a mask please just make it clear to the guests they are expected to do so even though the government does not make it mandatory anymore. We had six rooms booked for our stay but it still felt like we were wanted out as soon as possible. We followed all the rules and just wanted to get the service we paid for.

I was shocked by the worst customer service I have ever received by a hotel! I made a request for early check in because we had a time sensitive engagement in the afternoon. It was refused. I made a request to drop off our bags before going to our event, as we were walking onto the ferry and were carrying our belongings. It was refused. I made a last request that we do a fast check in at the 3:00 pm check in time as we were literally going to have to drop our stuff and run to make our event. I checked my email the morning of our booking as I was getting ready to leave to see a message from Sunshine Lodge that they had canceled our reservations! I understand that they have every right to refuse requests for whatever reasons they may have. It's not at all accommodating and it's very poor service, but they have the right. They don't have the right to cancel reservations at the last minute that I had made a month prior with no good reason whatsoever. I was never rude or abusive to them in anyway, so I have to assume that they just don't like receiving requests. Everything else in the area was booked, so we stayed home. Thank you very much for ruining our long weekend Sunshine Lodge!

This hotel is a little gem. The pool and garden area is very beautiful. Room was spacious and bed was very comfortable. The candles in the old fireplace was nice touch, made me feel at home. Small kitchenette to cook breakfast is a bonus. The only thing that made my stay uncomfortable was a group of guests celebrating a birthday, that took over the pool area. The staff was very apologetic when I mentioned it, not that it was their fault, it was clear to me that this group had no consideration for other guests. I decided to book another weekend, and look forward to reading my book by the pool.

The management and staff are very knowledgeable of the area and happy to answer as many questions as you may have. All of the staff are very friendly and upbeat! The pool is beautiful and sparkling clean and was steps away from our room. The courtyard was gorgeous and tropical. The rooms were impeccably clean, slightly dated but with really comfortable beds and pillows. The double sinks and soaker tub are a nice touch!

The sheets were dirty and full of unpleasant smell. I could not trust the towels and that is why I preferred to not take a shower. The customer service was so bad, and the front desk was so extremely rude. I do not recommend this place even if they offer you the free room.
