Attention All Truckers! I am currently at this location to pick up a load. I had arrived and waited 30 minutes for the shipper to arrive. Which is no surprise a this happens often at most places. As the Shipper arrived, she came in fuming! She was cursing and swearing asking myself and another driver if we knew what we were doing and how we were blocking the docks (which we weren't). After that whole ordeal, she came around to the desk and was extremely rude as she asked us for our pickup numbers. Between the French-English language barrier and the lack of understanding speaking through a mask, I showed her my phone that had all the information for clarification. She then proceeded to rudely shove the phone back at me demanding all the information i just recited to her and showed her once again. As I was aware I would need my own pen, since the new norm is to not share these items due to covid, plus the multiple signs saying I would need a pen to sign off on receiving paperwork. She then asked me if I had a pen and when I said I'd be back with one after loading and when I'm ready to sign off she then proceeded to insult me asking me if I was stupid and if I was aware of the corona virus all while blowing her runny nose into a well used kleenex and not wearing a mask. After this whole interaction I was quite flustered and upset as its already tough being on the road for days at a time under constant time restraints. With this on my mind I made the mistake of backing to the dock forgetting to open my doors. Before I could pull forward and correct this mistake she had opened another bay door to continue further yelling and screaming at me to open my doors (which I was in the process of doing) In the past hour I have spent observing this employee and writing this review, I have since seen her have this same attitude and negative energy towards other colleagues of hers, other drivers that came to check in, as well as gesturing and shaking her head in frustration at the tradesmen doing installations to the building. Having such employees to such a large company who are the first person that customers, vendors, trades people, as well as other employees come in contact with can be crippling to a company's image and can easily ruin the reputation that im sure all the staff have worked hard to keep up with. This can also lead to low company morale and eventually lead to depression among other coworkers that have to deal with this negativity on a daily basis, further leading to low productivity. Employees that display such negative attitude and unprofessionalism should be disciplined and possibly sent to sensitivity training for the workplace. As for the rude shipper/forklift operator I hear from other drivers that this is not the first time an incident like this has occurred. We all have bad days and carry many burdens on our shoulders but it is completely unacceptable to portray these feelings and emotions upon others surrounding you. Especially to hard working truckers that sacrifice a lot for the company to be able to ship and receive products on a tight schedule that keep the doors of this establishment open. Sincerely your unimpressed professional driver, Nimal Jeyakumaran 16/11/2020 9:00am-11:00am
