This clinic means well, but seems to be plagued by traditional clinic models/beuratratic models that are ultimately ablelist. Had to visit a family member who was unwell overseas, and notified them. Returned home to the clinic to be asked to politely leave pretty much and lost my position in the group, for the second time. For an organization that claims to "practice harm reduction," their no nonsense attitude with attendance is actually dangerous. After told I could no longer participate , again, no other services were offered to me in the immidiate situation. This could be very dangerous for people and lead to crisis. Fortunatley, I have other supports in my life to go to after experiences like this. While others do not. This clinic should better acknowledge the opioid crisis and when people have a will to get better they should be supported regardless of absences. There was pretty much no sympathy for my ill loved one, and was told to "make sure my phone works"...
