Style Encore Oakville

I was a little skeptical at first seeing the mixed reviews but I'm sure glad I gave it a shot last weekend!! ☺ It was my first time selling with them and the whole process was smooth and easy. After an hour or so I walked out of the store with a beautiful condition Mackage Adali jackat and a super cute brand new (tags attached) suede skirt from Aritzia!! The best part, I only paid...$28.42 after the trade!!!!!!! Yes, for items that are worth over hundreds, I paid less than 30 bucks!!!!!!! Deal of the century!!!!! ?? I'm a happy customer and can't wait til my next visit!!! I would be right at the door by 10am for their Black Fridays sale today if I didn't have to work lol!!! ??? Saw lotsssssss of awesome goodies on their IG!!!

Terrible costumer service, both online and in person on several occasions. I’ve shopped other style encore locations (which have been fantastic) but I had the worst experience here by far. Would not recommend shopping here.

I called just before 5:00pm and inquired about dropping my items off and if I needed to book an appointment for the buyer to review them. They said no, you just come in and we are open until 8. I drove 30 minutes to get there, arrived at 7:30 and was told even though they are open until 8, they stop buying items at 7:00pm. Communicate this to people so you don’t waste their time (and gas!). They suggested I drive back again the next day.

Be prepared for one long evaluation… I’ve always had such good experiences at Plato's Closet and so I’ve decided to try selling some stuff to Style Encore because I had some “mature” looking clothing and accessories from family members that I was looking to get rid of. I walked into the store with a large box of items containing a variety of women's clothing/accessories from well-known brands such as Calvin Klein, Fossil, Nine West, and others, most of which were brand new. After not acknowledging my presence for a couple minutes, the lady had told me that going through my items would take 30 minutes, which I was fine with. I browsed around the store to get a sense of what they were selling and I was mostly met with brands like Zara, Asos, and others. After 20 minutes of looking around, I noticed that the box had not been touched, so I assumed it would take more time so I left the store, planning to come in about 45 minutes. However, when I came back, I found the box STILL in the same place, looking untouched as before. I then just decided to walk around the store one more time, giving them MORE time and the lady who had taken my box originally had kept circling around me and honestly looked as if she was trying so hard to not make eye contact with me which made me uncomfortable. After 10 minutes of awkward standing, the same lady told me that they didn't want to purchase any of my stuff. When I got to my car, I looked inside the box and found that everything I put inside had stayed exactly as I'd left it. That is to say, they did not even sort through my things. I had folded them in a certain way and it was left the same. All I could see was that they had just glanced through them and then walked away. First of all, not only was so much of my time wasted, but they didn't tell me why the brand new fossil wallet, a pair of brand new, clean heeled booties, and so much more weren't taken. When I was originally going around the store, I noticed a short black dress from Asos on one of the racks with probably what looks to be cat hair on the back of it, yet they didn't take my brand new and trending Asos dress? Even though the store was completely empty, I was confused as to why they continued to act as if I wasn't there and even when i opened my mouth, they would pretend to do something else or not make eye contact which was weird and just showed the extreme lack of professionalism. I've even seen their tiktok (@styleencoreoakville) which leads me to believe that if you have the time to make tiktoks and promote the store, you must also have the time to ACTUALLY check over a buyer's items. Even if it isn't exactly what you're searching for, at the very least don't tell the buyer you looked through their items when you plainly didn't. If you read the rest of the 1 star reviews, you'll see that most of the store's responses are along the lines of "We can only buy what we can sell," which is completely legitimate when it makes sense. The store was selling scuffed shoes, accessories that looked to be from 2016 (ex. aviator sunglasses?) and various clothing that appear to have been collecting dust, but they claim they can't purchase brand new, trending, high-quality items? It's odd that this location claimed they couldn't find anything they wanted, while another location that I went to right after, were interested in practically everything. It doesn’t make sense to say that different locations prefer different items because location doesn’t have anything to do with the overall business standards. I think their argument for poor management and laziness is to blame their criteria, which isn't an adequate reason, but we'll leave it at that and let them come up with whatever they think is the most defensive response. So, whether you're looking to sell or buy, save yourself the time and don't go here. If you're trying to sell, they'll most likely not look over your things. If you’re looking to buy, you'll be met with a lot of beat up stuff.

Terrible place ,never buy online .pictures and comments on pics are not true and deceiving customers . Purchased a bag posted as gently used and when I received it the leather is off on some places which didn’t show on the post .when I sent the owner NIM is her name .she started a defensive action and that it’s final sale ,i paid 95 $ for sth that is gently used n came out as if it had been used for ages .owner is aggressive and unfriendly . Paid my order on Monday n they said will be shipped on Thursday n on Thursday they said we were so busy next Monday will be shipped . Bottom line Avoid this place !!!! Added photos for the post on their page va reality when I received it . Attached is the conversation about shipping .order wasn’t shipped as agreed and as the owner claims below in her reply to my post!!

Whenever I would go in to sell items when the owner is present, I walk away with a good experience and a good amount is purchased from me. I believe they changed personnel in the last 6 -8 months and the experience hasn't been the same. The only items picked are the ones suitable for 25 years and younger (which I thought that's what Plato's closet is for), as the clientele at Style Encore are typically 30+ years old. Sorry to say, I will be buying and selling at a different location moving forward.

I rarely write review but this one really irked me because it's not the first time its happened.... I was interested in purchasing an item from them so I reached out because the item showed as available (they were having a sale so I asked about the sale price) - I received a quick response saying the item had sold. The quick response shocked me given that this was an item that had been posted several days prior.Out of sheer curiosity, I asked someone else to message and ask for the same item (Without mentioning the sale price). They received a completely different response and it turns out the item was still available, they got an invoice for it and everything! I get that as a business everyone is trying to make money but don't post an item or a sale if you actually don't care about selling it... I have been shopping at this location on and off for years. Going forward, I will never go to this location ever again. For anyone interested in any designer items, try the Burlington or any of the other locations, they have always been amazing and I have always had great experiences there.

I went into the store a while ago and was shocked to find many items that were poor quality (stains, rips, etc.) and were definitley outdated. I was then further in shock when I saw that there were fake designer items listed as authentic designer, and these Chanel Espadrilles in the photo priced at hundreds of dollars??? I asked the girls how the store authenticates their items, because clearly something isn't right here. They explained that for most of their handbags there's a program that they and the other style encores use to authenticate designer, but as for anything other than the few bags it seems that designer shoes, clothing, belts, jewelry, etc is a quick search on google and a guessing game.
