I was looking to have a couple of pairs of shoes β€œlowered” and a new set of heels put on my favourite 25 year old shoes. It was recommended to me by a very reliable person, who deals in leather, to go to Stevenson’s Shoe Repair. I am extremely happy with the results. The professionalism and efficiency in which the shoes were completed was top notch. I would highly recommend their shoe services.

Will never ever go there again and would give them 0 stars if I could. Very rude, arrogant staff and expensive. I was getting a simple re-heeling done and they did fine on that but when I got home there was damage on the shoes that was NOT there when I brought them in. Tried to bring them in so they could at least try and fix them and was told that there was absolutely no way this would have happened here and that I clearly did not pay enough attention to my own shoes. I told her that as someone who takes VERY good care of my shoes and polish them myself I notice when new marks pop up. She just said the same thing over again not even trying to offer a possible solution. SO RUDE.

So, someone had recommended them to me. I had two really good pairs of shoes (from Germany) that I thought were worth fixing. They were pretty pricy and good quality, so I didn't want to throw them out. The customer service is definitely not the best, if you like someone friendly. I personally don't care much about that, because it's a shoe clinic, not a restaurant, but fixing the shoes was $100. Now, I don't know what new soles cost, but 100 seemed a bit much for one pair. The other pair just needed some glue. I was mostly unimpressed that they really didn't put any effort into it for that much money. They looked pretty dirty when I got them back and there was glue on the leather. Overall, I must say, if there's a cheaper and better alternative in Victoria, I'd be happy to know about it, as I do like my shoes, but that was definitely too much.

Extremely rude service. The customer is always wrong is the mantra here. Don't ask more then one question in a polite tone or risk condescending/rude behaviour. As for the quality of cobbling, resoled a pair of desert boots awhile back that was acceptable work but not for the price point. If you are looking for shoe care products for high-quality leather footwear- collection of polishes and conditioners/renovating products are cheap.

Brought in a shoe that another repair shop told me was impossible to fix (something to do with the interior support wall). Staff was polite and said they could fix the shoes but it would cost about $80 and the shoes looked like they might be similar value. They were right, for me the repair would not be worth it. I appreciated their honest assessment, giving me a chance to make a decision in my best financial interest, without them pushing for the sale.

I contacted Dennis at Stevenson's about resoling my Blundstone boots. Within a week the boots were returned to me by mail and the resoling on the boots is perfect. I am delighted and highly recommend this business for all your shoe needs. Happy on Gabriola Island!

In my opinion and experience I was duped. Sorry for this positive review. Products unstatisfactoty. Fell apart quickly. Too costly for what I bought. Amazing Clinic. He helped me buy a pair of insoles and bone spur pads that were Excellent for my feet. He was more helpful on an $80 purchase than any podiatrist I've seen at $400-$700 for a pair of insoles. Give this man your business. He's top knotch. Very knowledgeable and kind.

I had Stevenson's shorten a leather belt for me. They completely butchered the new buckle holes and topped it off with cutting the belt crooked. It looks like something I could have done blindfolded with an exacto knife. When I called to complain, they said it was the best they could do and blamed it on not having the right tools ($20 buckle punch).
