About Steele Heights Baptist Church
The Board of Elders at Steele Heights Baptist Church (SHBC) exists to provide spiritual direction and maintain Godly order for the ministries of SHBC.
It consists of 6-9 members who meet the character qualifications listed in (1 Timothy 3:1-7 & Titus 1:5-9) and are appointed by the church membership. They serve two-year terms but are allowed to serve multiple terms if they are re-nominated and approved by the church membership.
The Elders meet regularly to pray, administrate and to equip Pastor Darren and the rest of the Pastoral Staff. Along with the Pastors, the Elders pray specifically for healing or other personal, family or church concerns.
Our current Board of Elders is comprised of Edgar Semler, Kevin Hanna, Harry Adeghe, Justin Mutuganyi, Helen Vargas, Lorne Clark, Monet Kasindi, Michael Wilber, and Darren Platt.

The pastors and the members of the congregation are wonderful Christians and I feel privileged to be a part of the church family; I have grown a lot since becoming involved; I feel very strongly that God led me to this church.

This church saved me what wonderful people i felt god like he was there holding me up to stand the worship with music is the best what a great way to honor our lord and saviour.this is my sanctuary i feel like this is home. Thank you every one. And i thank god for leading me here.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ I love the sermons. I find them very personal & the worship is always so deep & prepares me for the service.
The Pastors are so friendly and welcoming as all the staff are.
I've been in hospital since Feb/19 & the church has comfe together to care for us thyough prayers and hospital visits. My only complaint is they seem to have forgotten my husband needs support as well. He is lonely & hasn't heard from the church. I'm sure this isn't a usual occurrence.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pastor Bonnie's services are very nice and well put together! She uses relevant and relatable real world examples and makes her messages very clear. The first time I went to SHBC was when they were doing the 10 commandments and Pastor Bonnie's presentation of "Honour your father and mother" was very well done and moving. I especially appreciate her use of PowerPoint and citing sources. The church community is diverse and very welcoming to new people. Everyone also took part in creating a safe environment during the pandemic (keeping masks on and distancing) which is comforting
