Initially I thought the menu was overpriced for a pub but after trying the food I can humbly admit that I was wrong. We had the cauliflower chicken and the pretzel appetizers followed buy the fish tacos and French dip and everything was amazing. They offer a lot of options for sides that you don't find many places like cilantro slaw, jalapeno cheesy mashed potatoes. Although it's pricy, state and main has a phenomenal choice of food and my wife and I wouldn't hesitate to return.

Went here for a friend's birthday and it was unusually quiet for a Saturday night. The hostess was very friendly and patient with our large group of people, service was prompt and all it took a while but all of our orders came out at the same time which was nice. My friends enjoyed their meals, the bowls looked great. I personally had the Grilled Cheese Burger, and it was everything you'd think it would be, thick Texas toast, pretty tasty patty. My sister had the sirloin steak and said it was okay, nothing spectacular. Overall it was an enjoyable experience, decent food at a decent price in downtown. Comparable to JOEY, Cactus Club and Earls but to be honest I would choose one of those restaurants over State & Main.

She was on the ball, timely, informative but not pushy with the daily specials. I happened to mention that I thought that tomatoes would be good on the farm salad and presto the tomatoes appeared. Great experience. Thank you

G	Graham Bain on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Pacific Rim Noodle Bowl ---------- A small sloop sails slowly across the water. There is an unsettling calm about the ocean today. The crew can’t put their finger on it, but they seem unnerved. They would normally be quite happy on such a beautiful day. Sun shining, birds singing, perfect temperature and humidity, and a magnificent pot of pacific rim noodle soup stewing in the galley. Everything is too perfect. Seemingly, out of nowhere, bubbles start floating to the surface. At first only one or two, but they intensify quickly. The sloop starts to shake violently as the bubbles become surfacing pockets of air. The previously calm ocean shakes around them. In the blink of an eye a giant shadow surfaces from the water at a speed the crew thought previously impossible. “Kaijū!” one of the sailors shouts, but it was too late. Just as fast as it appeared, it slammed back down into the sea bringing the sloop, crew and soup with it. Don't cook soup when depths unknown. ---------- 8/10 ---------- Instagram @therealsoupnation
M	Malorie on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ +My pitsacio crusted salmon was SO delicious. +White wine sangria was pretty good. A bit bitter/sour. +They managed to serve a semi busy place with just two servers. Server was accommodating and nice - had to wait a while for our bill - they were out of the Hawaiian steak my boyfriend wanted. -+ he instead got a grilled cheese burger that was good but very greasy. Bread was soaked all the way through.
A	Alice Coatu on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Been here a few times and had the best experience with Kathy! Service is quick, meals are filling, full of flavor, and beautifully presented. I had a 2 for 1 coupon but would 100% pay full price for any of the meals I got. The happy hour specials are great also!
