Communication is very poor in terms of contacting support/advisors/head office/etc. School fees continued into my last semester that was online in which I was paying for the gym, library and all the luxuries of studying on an actual campus.. Some profs are great, some are horrible as every school. I would recommend attending U of C or Mount Royal rather than stmu. I've known many people that attending those two schools and they didn't have nearly as many issues as I had at St. Mary's. I had many issues during my degree here and most of them remain unresolved. The counsellor was horrible. She didn't pay any attention to me in our meetings and you'd expect with a school that gives you so many issues, they could at least hire an adequate counsellor. She has a cute dog. But that's not helpful to just pay attention to your dog when someone's requesting mental help. She was very poor at her job, and when I graduated she did very little to help me with my pre-existing issues and trying to find help out of the school atmosphere. Oh. And I am still waiting to see what or how graduation will be and I've been waiting since may 2020. It's February 2021 now for your information, reading this. Terrible communication makes it hard to feel any
s	sarah dobiniski on Google ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ This school has been a pleasure to attend until January of 2022, due to the ongoing COVID pandemic, and continuing rise in hospitalizes, you would think that the school would continue to keep students online for their safety as well as the safety of the professor, this however is not the case the administration has decided that it is safe for us to return to in-person learning. this is a shock for students for a multitude of reasons, 1) The school did not adhere to the safety procedures that they had put in place, such as security, that was only at the School for a month at most 2) The students made not only a petition to voice their concerns about the return to in-person schooling, but they also started a survey that the school promptly shut down, the school also completely disregarded the petition and went on to say that they have listened to the students concerns, while simultaneously shutting down all attempts from students to make their concerns heard. 3) The school has made it clear that students only course of action is to contact Student Legislative Council who can only do as much as the administration will allow them to. At the end of the day the students of this school just want to be heard and want to have their opinions taken into to consideration, and to have school not return until after their reading week is over on February 28th, the students do not see this as an extraneous ask.
