Squamish Watersports

Our first SUP experience. Squamish Watersports is in a great location. It’s just a short walk to the river. The rental gears were clean and price is reasonable. Our instructor was helpful and friendly. The training was useful. He even drove his boat with us all the time and make sure we were safe on the water. Definitely will go back next time! =)

Amazing experience! Staff are nice, covid safe and super efficient. The views were so beautiful- went in the afternoon and kayaked with many seals which was an great time! Highly recommend.

Outstanding! Melanie and her team are incredible they accommodated me wholeheartedly more than I could have imagined and I am so thankful. My friend and I had an amazing time paddle boarding today with their wet suits and equipment we were all dry and warm! Amazing! Highly recommend!

Squamish Watersports has really made my summer this year with the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of traveling, I spent my time this summer out on the water with their wonderful instructors learning how to kiteboard. The first time I went out with them, Jared took me for their crash course lesson. He was friendly, affable and a great motivator and coach throughout the lesson. The first lesson involved getting acquainted with the basics of the kite, the wind, the wind window, and how to fly the kite. Once those were covered, you get straight into the water, and you get to try some kiting moves while body dragging. The first time I did a "power stroke" in water, it was exhilarating and I was hooked. I immediately booked 6 hours of lessons through the package program they have. Throughout the summer so far, I spent about 25 hours on the water learning to kiteboard. All the instructional staff I've had, Nick, Will and Jared, are great teachers and communicators who are just as excited as you are when you start to master a new skill on the water. They make sure that you are safe and secure with what you are doing while helping you push the boundaries and learn new skills. The first time I got some good rides in, they took videos so I can show my friends and show me what I should be doing to do better. The administrative staff here is great as well. Lara is the bomb and will always help you with scheduling, helping you with gearing questions and all the other good stuff. Dan and Mel are great and are willing to help out the students to make sure they can get out on the water if there's delays or something going awry. The facilities are great. Always a hot tub and a hot shower when you get out of the cold Howe Sound. It makes the winding down period after kiteboarding great when it's 15-20 C. Warms you right up, relaxes your muscles and gets you going again. If you were ever curious about windsports or watersports, and you are in the lower Mainland or Squamish Area, you should really hit these guys up. It can change your life and give you a new hobby! It sure did for me. (P.S. If you've never done a board sport in your life, get a wakeboarding lesson with Will. He got me up on my second try!)

We got a great value for money coupon through Groupon for a 4 hour kayak session. The lady who helped us was extremely accommodating, we managed to get a morning reservation for the next day on a Saturday morning which turned out to be a beautiful sunny day and therefore a great activity! She also gave some great route recommendations with good knowledge of the area and nearby wildlife. The joint is extremely close to the dock and only a few minutes walk with your gear and they also let you park for free as long as you need which is super handy. They also have a very good approach to being COVID friendly. Note to self... book an earlier reservation next time. We docked around 09:30am which proved to be a bit of a struggle Kayaking down the Howe Sound towards Shannon Falls as it was pretty windy by then and choppy waters. Support local businesses! PS, I also recommend checking out the Squamish Farmers Market afterwards which runs until 3 for a well deserved drink and grub!

We had a blast on our group (11 ladies) outing last weekend! I was the one organizing the event and SW has always been responsive to my questions and are very knowledgable. Email communications were smooth making the arrangement super easy to handle. Nice family own business. It took us some time for set up, but Daniel were very patient and gave us enough time at the channel to enjoy the experience! He also helped us took lots of great photos! And it felt unreal to be in such beautiful setting and encountered some wildlife up close! I will highly recommend it to my friends and hope to bring my children back in the future. My first SUP experience as part of my girls trip to Squamish this summer. SW is a small local business, the location is convenient, a short walk down to the lake from the store. There were 11 of us in the group, all new beginners. We started with setting up the paddle boards in a small area by the lake together. It was pretty nerve wrecking at the beginning, but Daniel showed great patience with us. Truly appreciate his extra time also taking fabulous photos from his small boat for us! Amazing!

The word of superb to describe our first time SUP experience with Squamish Watersports does not do it justice. We had a group of 11 ladies with limited experience playing SUP. The staff, Daniel, was so helpful and kind to teach us. He always asked each of us if we needed to take a break in his boat. He helped us taking lots of amazing photos. The view of the port is stunning. Highly recommend this place to my friends and appreciate Daniel to be our wonderful photographer! Thank you, Daniel!
