This is a great place for a picnic by the lakeside. Sproat Lake is a fresh water lake and the campsite is located about 10 km west of Port Alberni on the Pacific Rim Highway No. 4 driving to Tofino. There are two campsites which can be reserved on a first come first served basis. There is a day use area also and a large parking lot for day picnickers. They have toilets, drinking water taps, showers and a boat launch area. Picnic benches are well spread out in the open areas. This place is good for a lot of activities like swimming, kayaking, fishing, water-skiing and when the wind is up, wind-surfing.

An awesome view is presented when you see the lake. It's a large lake and there's many places along to get good views. But from this park, you can see the MARS bomber if you can find the right vantage point. The picnic area is right on the lake with plenty tables available. Multiple facilities as well all within a short distance from the tables.

Absolutely terrible, no watercraft would be good or and mask and snorkel would be useless. Don't come preseason as no one is there to bother you or make noise.

Lake looks amazing and great for swimming. Didn't see much of the campsite itself but we stayed in T5, one of the walk in sites, and it wasn't great. It was just an open strip of land and the 5 sites were all right next to each other with no trees. By evening, there was a tent right next to us on the green patch in the photos. So I wouldn't recommend those sites but the park itself looked nice.

Beautiful area, nice flush toilets, pit tpilets and showers open to the public from 8am to 7pm with a boat launch onto sproat lake next to the beach. The flush toilets and showers are closed over the winter.

Camping here in March means you have the place to yourself. We set up at #4 right up from the lake and saw about 3 people in the 18 hours we were there. Jumping in the lake in March is a great way to wake up when you forget your coffee. Highly recommend in all seasons but March is something special. Great for skipping stones
