★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's not bad but not great. Great place to look for comics, owner is very accommodating and the staff is funny if not a bit morbid and a tad cynical. They also sell product various card games however they favour Magic The Gathering.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Check Swing is a long standing institution for all sorts of collectibles on the South Shore, since a very long time. Sports collectibles, pro sports trading cards in addition to other pop culture collectibles and things which certain people might see as kind of “geeky”... but hey geeky is cool in 2021 right? Trading card games, comics and other cool items can be found here.
I’ve seen many card shops/ gaming shops come and go, but the one long standing line on the timeline that has never faltered would be that of Check Swing.
As a long time collector of comic books and trading card game properties such as Magic the Gathering, I must highly recommend Check Swing as the go-to place on the South Shore!

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ Fairly large store with a wide range of items fot any collector (cards, comics, board games, etc). Some of prices are pretty steep, but it's fairly reasonable considering the value and rarity of some of these items.
I'd recommend it to any collector looking for something specific and wanting to look at an item before they buy as opposed to online stores.

★ ★ ★ ★ ★ It's a great place. The sales person was useful for explaining the difference with each card protector and deck box. I recommend it for sure. The reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is simply because for the price, they beat for sure the big market, but not some other similar store in La Prairie.

Update: I went there for another 3 times but the service started slaking for some reason. The service man started giving an attitude even when I spent a lot on accessories for trading cards. The first time I went it was the same but y’a just don’t realize that quickly but until you go there more often, your going to understand what I’m talking about.
