I was in a state of despair when I stumbled across Tara’s ad on a walk. I decided to give it a go despite my previous bad experience with a dog trainer. I’m so glad that I did because she is absolutely awesome. In her first consultation she explained in detail about her packages. Not only are her packages affordable but she has a variety of different lessons that even catered to my busy work schedule. Her training is all about positive reinforcement and is nothing about scolding or correction. I was a bit scarred from my last trainer who wanted me to correct my pup aggressively every time he did something wrong. Tara gave me confidence and most importantly so much more love for Milo. I can’t thank her enough for what she’s taught us and highly recommend her to anyone who is in need of help. I was on a verge of giving up but grateful I met Tara just in time!

Tara did a great job in training not only my dog but me on how to properly work with my golden retriever .. Bertie. She was very professional .. arriving on time , providing lessons that were in tune with what Bertie and I needed and always followed up with emails with relevant suggestions and visuals on the lessons covered. Tara made an instant connection to Bertie and he responded to her training with ease . It took a little longer for him to respond when I took over but now we work in unison... he is an absolute joy !!! Thank you Tara

Tara was fantastic!! She saved my sanity by helping me get my new rescue pup through doors and into the car!!! She has a excellent way with dogs and is very reliable and easy to communicate with. I would highly recommend her.

Tara has been working with our energetic rescue puppy for the past few months and we have been so grateful and impressed by her. We did an initial set of training sessions all together and then set up a series of "day training" sessions where Tara takes our dog out for one-on-one training. Tara is a great combo of patient, firm and fun with dogs and goes above and beyond to share tips and resources. Our pup adores Tara and has learned so much from her!

Tara (Spook) loves dogs and is super knowledgeable about them! She has lots of great strategies and has the skills to work on a variety of goals. We really appreciated her help with getting our dog ready to have a baby in the house - now they are great pals (well, our baby loves our dog, our dog mostly ignores our baby!)

Tara was invaluable for 4 private sessions of training with our Formosan rescue pup, Sydney & us. Tara was always on time, and extremely patient with all of us. After each lesson she sent us a synopsis of our session and helpful graphics. Sydney (who is quite shy) warmed up to Tara quickly. I would highly recommend Tara if you are in the East Vancouver area.

Tara was a great help with my new, reactive dog. Everyone in my life comments on the difference in my dog's behaviour before and after our training sessions with her. My dog is much more confident, comfortable, and sociable out in the world. Tara is a great communicator, sending training session recaps after each meet and providing notes for home practice. It's clear she knows her stuff and her care for the animals she works with is evident. I recommend her services.

We've used Tara's 1:1 services, and her puppy school course since we adopted our puppy a year ago. She's super communicative over text/email, our first conversation she was so helpful and understanding with many of my questions and concerns and took time to answer them all - her care with questions was why we decided she was right for us. we're coming up on our 6th session with her over the course of a year, and she's given us a lot of advice, suggestions, and tips to help us "speak" to our super rambunctious loving Golden Doodle. Just to demonstrate her effectiveness at pinpointing certain methods to target improvement - our recent sessions have to do with our dog's excited behaviour over hearing doorbells and knocks, and seeing dogs and people on walks where he would bark uncontrollably when he heard either, and greet people by jumping all over them - this was happening for a couple of months. Within a week, with her tips, our dog stopped barking, and within a month he now sits quietly in his "wait spot" even as we chat to whoever is at the door. He also is beginning to address sounds and people by noticing them but not barking, or jumping all over them to say hello. We use our sessions with Tara to help us reinforce some of our "common sense" and tune some of our own actions to make training sessions more successful. Her puppy courses through Dogworks were also really great to reinforce good behaviour and methods, though if you have a very active/playful dog like mine I'd suggest private 1:1s with her instead to improve success as our dog proved too distracted/distracting. We love Tara, she works with our schedule and location, she has helpful resources and a great network of people in her field to help her guide you, she always sends post session summaries and additional support material to help you, and our dog loves her too. He literally bounces with excitement when she's around - she's great!
